The plot of The Acolyte is finally becoming clear...

The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland has confirmed a massive twist in her upcoming Star Wars TV show. Set at the tail end of the High Republic Era, when the light of the Jedi first began to fade, The Acolyte promises to be a character study in light and dark. For weeks now, there have been rumors this would be achieved by Amandla Stenberg, who would be playing not one but two characters. Now, those rumors have been confirmed.

The Acolyte showrunner Leslye Headland was interviewed by Good Morning America this morning, and revealed that this is the story of two twins - Osha and Mae, who were "separated by tragedy when they were very young." Osha joined the Jedi Order and trained under Lee Jung-jae's Jedi Master Sol, ultimately leaving "because she has so much internal turmoil that she's not able to connect with the Force in the way that maybe she was destined to." Mae was thought dead, but has returned and is on the warpath.
