At the opening of the Ghibli Museum, his son, Goro Miyazaki, spoke with Oricon about the studio and his father's works and achievements in the entertainment world. This is when he discussed Hayao Miyazaki's next movie.
Although he isn't quite sure about the plot, given the movie is still in the early stages, it has been confirmed that Hayao Miyazaki's next movie will be an action-adventure and will be reminiscent of his early works. Ghibli execs already confirmed The Boy and the Heron was not Miyazaki's last film, but this news shows that the acclaimed director is already hard at work on his next project.

Although even Goro isn't totally sure about the movie's details, he glimpsed small aspects and could discern the overall direction and tone. If Miyazaki's next movie is an action-adventure, it would be in line with the statement that it would be nostalgic, given he has made similar movies such as Princess Mononoke, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind and Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro.
