Prestige Points are one such currency that players might passively unlock as they play through the game. Before jumping into MultiVersus, it’s best to learn how Prestige Points work and what these points are used for.

MultiVersus was first released in 2022 as an early access title, but only recently re-released on May 28, 2024. In that time, the game has seen tons of new additions in terms of fighters, stages, playable modes, and cosmetics. If players have the points to spend, they can customize everything about their profile and selected fighter, from the player icon to the fighter’s variant costume. In order to unlock many of these cosmetic additions, however, players need to know how to farm Prestige Points.

How To Get Prestige Points In MultiVersus

The only way to gain Prestige Points in MultiVersus is to acquire cosmetic items. The easiest way to unlock cosmetics in MultiVersus is to work through the Battle Pass. The MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass is filled with free cosmetic items that you can unlock simply by playing the game.

Ranging from player banners to badges, there’s a plethora of cosmetics that you can work your way through until you reach the end of the Battle Pass. If you purchase any additional cosmetics from the MutliVersus store, you will also receive additional Prestige Points.

You played the beta when it was available in 2022, you should notice that you already have some Prestige Points built up!

It’s important to know that the amount of Prestige Points you get for purchasing or unlocking a cosmetic item in MultiVersus is not static. The amount of Prestige Points you receive will scale depending on rarity. There are five rarity levels in MultiVersus: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. The higher the rarity of the cosmetic items, the more Prestige Points you will receive. Once you have gathered a large sum of Prestige Points, you can go to the shop to spend your hard-earned currency.

What Are Prestige Points Used For In MultiVersus

Prestige Points are a currency in MultiVersus used to unlock exclusive cosmetic items or fighters in the Prestige Store. The Prestige Store is part of the shop tab located in the game’s main menu. If you scroll down, you can find both the Prestige and Fighter shops located near the bottom of the screen. The Fighter shop is where you can purchase new Fighters, such as The Joker, to add to your roster. You can purchase fighters with either Prestige or Gleamium.

The Prestige Shop is a shop purely for cosmetic items. These items are Prestige Shop exclusives that will routinely cycle in and out of the shop. Alongside completing the Battle Pass, this is an excellent way to stock up on Ring Outs, Taunts, player banners, and more. Since all items in this shop are on a timer, it’s best to stock up on Prestige Points and save for items that you want before they are eventually replaced in MultiVersus.
