Cobra Kai Season 6 Teases 3 Surprise Additions To Johnny & Daniel's Dojo

Summary Season 6 of Cobra Kai promises a powerful dojo with the addition of Kenny, Kyler, and Shawn.

Expect intense training and new alliances as Johnny and Daniel prepare for the Sekai Taikai tournament.

The upcoming season hints at a united effort to win, setting up a showdown with new opponents at the tournament.

Cobra Kai has subtly teased three surprise additions to Johnny and Daniel's dojo, proving that they're about to boast the strongest roster in franchise history. Official photos from Cobra Kai season 6, alongside a new trailer, highlight what Daniel and Johnny will be working with ahead of the Sekai Taikai tournament. From the looks of things, they'll have no shortage of capable students going into the next competition, which is in contrast to the positions Johnny and Daniel were in during seasons 1 and 4.

The pair will need all hands on deck with the Sekai Taikai expected to be the challenge facing the protagonists in Cobra Kai season 6. It was already known that they'd be getting a significant boost with Tory Nichols joining the fold, as her membership was previously teased in a photo. But with the release of new details for Cobra Kai season 6, it's become apparent that Tory is hardly the most shocking addition to the team.

Cobra Kai Season 6 Teases Kenny, Shawn, And Kyler As Members Of Miyagi-do & Eagle Fang

Johnny and Daniel's dojo is looking stronger than ever

Close

The 0:29 mark in the Cobra Kai season 6 trailer reveals that Kenny will be a member of Johnny and Daniel's combined dojo. The character was shown standing amongst the students, wearing the same white gi as the others. Cobra Kai season 5's ending notably refrained from resolving his respective conflicts with Robby and Anthony, so there were obviously still some hurdles in the way of him joining the dojo. However, the footage confirms that regardless of whether he ends his rivalry with Anthony or not, he will be counted as an ally in the fights ahead.

Perhaps even more striking than the inclusion of Kenny in their ranks is what the show is teasing for Kyler and Shawn. 0:14 in the trailer showed Kyler standing together with Miguel, Hawk, and Demetri, as if they were all friends now. This indicates that Cobra Kai's original and longest-standing bully will finally change his ways and align with the "good" characters. As opposed to Kyler, Shawn - seen in a photo sparring with Kenny and Miguel - already had redeeming qualities via his relationship with Kenny, but no existing connection to karate or the dojo war, which would make him a truly unexpected recruit for Johnny and Daniel.

What Johnny & Daniel's New Recruits Reveal About Cobra Kai Season 6's Story

The Sekai Taikai gives prospective students good reasons to join

The huge changes in the roster make a lot of sense when looking at what's ahead. The promise of competing in something as exciting as an international karate tournament was likely a huge attraction for many of the new faces spotted in the photos and the trailer. That could have been what brought in Kyler and Johnny's original Cobra Kai students. The same could certainly apply to Kenny, who was arguably Terry Silver's most ambitious student. His presence could also easily account for Shawn being around, as he could seek to support his brother.

Characters like Kenny, Shawn, and even Kyler being on hand are indicative of a massive, united effort to win the Sekai Taikai in Cobra Kai season 6. From the looks of things, every major teenage character involved in the dojo war will be under one roof this time around, thus creating the need for any enemies they face going forward to be entirely new characters. Whether it's Kim Dae-Eun's students from South Korea, or other karate teams taking part in the Sekai Taikai that they fight, it looks like Johnny and Daniel's dojo will be more than well-prepared.
