Mia, a 19-year-old from Centre, Alabama, earned her golden ticket to Hollywood after singing "No Place That Far" by Sara Evans. Her sister, Jacy, joined her at the audition, but was eliminated during Hollywood Week. Throughout American Idol season 22, Mia sang beautiful renditions of country hits, including "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" by Lainey Wilson, "Those Memories of You" by Dolly Parton, Linda Ronstadt, and Emmylou Harris, "Over You" by Miranda Lambert, and "No One Needs to Know" by Shania Twain.

Mia is also recording new music, revealing, "I’ve been in the studio, I’ve been going up to Nashville just about every week since I’ve been back. I’ve recorded three songs. We’re hoping to put them out soon, and there’s some really cool things in the works, stuff I can’t really share quite yet, but there’s a lot of blessings and a lot of really cool experiences and opportunities that are coming my way." Mia's time on American Idol seems to have opened many doors for her in the country music industry.
American Idol season 22 wasn't Mia's first time appearing in a reality television singing competition series. She competed as part of the country music trio, Worth the Wait, along with Jacy and their mother, Tara, in The Voice season 19 in 2020. All four coaches--Kelly Clarkson, Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and Blake Shelton, turned their chairs during their audition with Linda Ronstadt's "When Will I Be Loved." They made it to the Live Playoffs round with their coach, Blake. Now Mia is making her own way in the music industry as a solo artist, and, on American Idol, she proved that she has the incredible vocals and star quality to do it.
Throughout American Idol season 22, Mia stayed true to herself as an authentic country artist. It's easy to imagine her taking the stage with the biggest country music stars at CMA Fest, especially since her American Idol season 22 finale duet with judge Luke Bryan, during which they sang George Strait's "Run," was such a big hit. Luke will be performing at CMA Fest, so perhaps Mia will join him on stage again. In addition, it will be very exciting to hear the three new songs that Mia recorded. She deserves all the best as she moves forward with her career. Mia has the magic in her that will make her a superstar.
American Idol season 22 is available to stream on Hulu.
