Created by Soo Hugh, and based on the 2017 novel by Min Jin Lee, Pachinko premiered in March 2022 on Apple TV+. Telling the story of a Korean family through four generations, the adaptation garnered a warm reception from both audiences and critics and was frequently cited as one of the best shows of the year.
Now, Apple TV+ has announced the premiere date of Pachinko season 2. The acclaimed adaptation will return on Friday, August 23, 2024, with one episode, followed by one new episode every Friday until the finale on October 11. This means that season 2 will consist of eight episodes overall.

The series follows the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family, beginning with a forbidden love that gathers steam and builds to a sweeping saga that moves between Japan, Korea, and America. In the process, the Apple TV+ drama unravels a story of love and loss, war and peace, and triumph. Pachinko's story particularly focuses on the character of Kim Sunja through the decades, detailing her familial and romantic relationships.
