"Blew My F*cking Mind": White Lotus Season 3's Big Mystery Teased By Walton Goggins

Summary Walton Goggins promises a mind-blowing mystery in The White Lotus season 3, set in Thailand with a star-studded cast also including Leslie Bibb.

There are no official plot details yet, but season 3 will be satirical, funny, and explore themes of death, spirituality, and Eastern religion.

Expect a dark turn as someone ends up dead at the White Lotus resort in Thailand, with complex psychosocial issues driving interactions.

Walton Goggins teases The White Lotus season 3's big mystery, saying it "blew [his] f*cking mind." Created, written, and directed by Mike White, the Emmy award-winning HBO series follows the guests and employees of the eponymous resort chain, with each season set in a different idyllic locale. Shortly after his stellar performance as Cooper Howard/The Ghoul in Prime Video's Fallout show, Goggins will be checking in to The White Lotus for season 3, which will be set in Thailand and also star Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, just to name a few.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz, Goggins teased The White Lotus season 3's big mystery, saying that reading Mike White's scripts "blew [his] f*cking mind."

The Emmy-nominated actor says that, while reading the scripts, he didn't initially understand how all the different elements of the story would come together, but once they did, he was deeply moved and also found it funny. On the podcast, Goggins went on to discuss some of his cast mates for the upcoming season. Watch the full portion of the video above, or read his comments below:

They blew my f*cking mind man. I had expectations as one does if you get the opportunity to read a Mike White script, but I didn't see where it was going. I didn't see how all these pieces in this puzzle were going to fit together and when I fully understood the totality of what Mike was trying to say in this third season of this cultural juggernaut, I was overcome with emotion and laughed throughout it and it's been yet another experience of a lifetime.

What To Expect From The White Lotus Season 3's Story

No Official Plots Details Have Been Revealed

Close

There are no official plot details for The White Lotus season 3, so one must rely on small teases from those involved and past seasons to speculate about the upcoming storyline. In 2022, after The White Lotus season 2 ending, White revealed that the third season would be a "satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality." Now, Goggins' comments seem to confirm that season 3 is in fact funny, but also moving.

The only returning member of The White Lotus season 3 cast is Natasha Rothwell as Belinda, reprising her role as the resort's kind and spiritual spa manager who forms a complex relationship with Tanya (Jennifer Coolidge) in season 1, providing her emotional support while also pitching a potential wellness business to the wealthy heiress. Considering that Belinda is returning, season 3 will likely continue her story after Tanya initially promises to fund her wellness spa, only later to withdraw the support and fund Greg's endeavors instead, leaving Belinda disillusioned as she discards her plans.

Similar to Goggins, Rothwell teased that season 3's scripts are so shocking that she "gasped out loud a minimum of five times" while reading them.

After the first two seasons, it's safe to say that season 3 will start with someone turning up dead at the White Lotus resort in Thailand, and then flashback one week earlier to follow the events that preceded it. Furthermore, the resort's guests and staff's diverse psychosocial issues should influence their interactions, and with each passing day, a darker complexity will emerge. More specific information about The White Lotus season 3's big mystery should be revealed as it nears its release date in 2025.

The White Lotus is streaming on Max.
