Pixar’s new Disney+ strategy for their upcoming movies and TV shows is clarified by studio president Jim Morris. In recent years, Pixar has made the controversial decision to release a couple of its titles straight to Disney+, including Soul and Turning Red. As a result, the studio has not given some of its films the opportunity to shine in theaters in the way some Pixar movies used to. The studio does have a theatrical release to come in the upcoming Inside Out 2, however, which is set for release on June 14.
As per Bloomberg, Morris explains Pixar’s Disney+ strategy for their upcoming projects. Check out the full quote from Morris below:
I hope that we will not release another feature film on Disney+. If we do more stuff for Disney+, it should be a series, and then that makes a clean demarcation between what we do for theaters and what we do for streaming.
