Carmy and Claire's relationship seems poised for a comeback, adding potential conflict as Carmy continues to focus on the restaurant.
Hope that Claire's character will be developed further in season 3 beyond being a foil for Carmy, adding depth to the storyline.
The new trailer for The Bear season 3 confirms the return of Claire, Carmy's romantic interest from season 2. Claire, played by Molly Gordon, appears in a few scenes of The Bear season 3 trailer, which was released just days after The Bear season 3 teaser. The highly-anticipated third season of the Emmy-winning series will premiere on June 27, 2024, with all ten new episodes becoming available upon release, exclusively on Hulu.
Jeremy Allen White is set to return as Carmy Berzatto in both The Bear seasons 3 and 4, both of which were filmed back to back in order to free up the schedules of the increasingly in-demand staff. The Bear's season 3 trailer appears to be going back to the roots of the masterfully chaotic first season while still relishing the accomplishment of revamping The Bear into a fine dining restaurant in season 2. The Bear Season 3 Trailer Confirms The Show Will Continue Carmy & Claire's Story
Claire was one of the least dynamic & compelling characters of season 2
Close
It will be interesting to see if Claire is built up to be a more dynamic character in The Bear season 3, or if the frustrations viewers had with her from season 2 will continue.
Despite the online criticism about Claire's character in The Bear, she is not only set to return in The Bear season 3, but it also seems like she and Carmy are poised to get back together. Claire, who's studying to be a doctor in the series, has received a good amount of criticism from viewers who view her as mild-tempered and ultimately uncompelling, with an overly simplified and clichéd construction that acts as a stark outlier compared to the rest of the characters in the show.
It makes sense that Claire is level-headed and less emotional than Carmy. At the end of The Bear season 2, Carmy rationalizes Claire as a waste of time and a distraction from his passion and the restaurant. Based on the season 3 trailer, Carmy has not taken his foot off the gas now that the newly redesigned restaurant is up and running, which is sure to cause even more conflict between him and Claire. It will be interesting to see if Claire is built up to be a more dynamic character in The Bear season 3, or if the frustrations viewers had with her from season 2 will continue.

Carmy & Claire Shouldn't Get Back Together (But It's Looking Likely)
Claire's reasons for staying could add a new layer to her character
The best-case scenario for Claire's return to the series would be to experience her in her own time or with other characters to understand more of what she's about outside the context of Carmy.
Things between Carmy and Claire looked irreparable by the end of the second season, with Carmy naturally finding a way to undermine himself after getting locked in the kitchen's freezer on The Bear's opening night. The series should at least keep Carmy and Claire apart long enough for Carmy to do the necessary work to earn back her trust and respect after hurting her so deeply. The Bear's season 3 trailer shows glimpses of Carmy and Claire potentially on the fast track to getting back together, which would be great if it's done thoughtfully, like nearly everything else in the series.
Claire choosing to stay with Carmy would also provide an opportunity to explore more of her character rather than having her simply resume her role as a foil to Carmy's deep insecurities, family issues, and resultant brash behavior. The best-case scenario for Claire's return to the series would be to experience her in her own time or with other characters to understand more of what she's about outside the context of Carmy. Her subplot should not override the heart and soul of the series, however, which comes down to the irreplaceable chemistry of The Bear's key players.
