Scrotus is one of the highlights of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, and here is what happens to the character after the prequel and why he isn't in Mad Max: Fury Road. Scrotus is one of the children of Immortan Joe, with him working alongside Rictus to enforce Immortan Joe's rule throughout their time at the Citadel. Sadly, Scrotus is absent from the story of Mad Max: Fury Road without explanation, with this being one of the biggest mysteries in Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is finally here, with the highly anticipated prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road out now. Unlike the other films in the Mad Max series, the prequel switches focus to highlight the titular protagonist, exploring Furiosa's journey across the Wasteland in an attempt to get back home to the Green Place. Scrotus Became The New Leader Of Gas Town In A Video Game

But The Game Isn't Canon

Close

To the surprise of many, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga isn't Scabrous Scrotus' first appearance, as the character actually appears in the 2015 Mad Max video game. The game reveals that Immortan Joe appointed Scrotus to be the leader of Gas Town, with him and his own band of War Boys controlling the area after The Citadel won control over it.

Although George Miller originally intended for the Mad Max game to be canonical, it currently is considered non-canon, meaning that this Scrotus explanation may not count toward the story of Mad Max: Fury Road. Assuming that it does, however, this means that Scrotus' performance in the 40-Day Wasteland War most likely impressed Immortan Joe, leading to his promotion to the leader of Gas Town in the world of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.

Mad Max: Fury Road Indicates That Scrotus Died After Furiosa

How Did He Die?

Close

Although Scrotus' fate after this is never directly revealed, Mad Max: Fury Road indicates that Scrotus died sometime after Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. In the 2015 film, it is revealed that the People Eater is now running Gas Town, with it never being explained why Scrotus stopped being leader of the area.

Since Scrotus doesn't appear in the film at all, it is possible that he died at some point between the 2015 Mad Max video game and Mad Max: Fury Road. It is possible that this question could be answered in another upcoming Mad Max prequel movie that focuses on Max one year before the events of Mad Max: Fury Road, finally resolving this major Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga mystery.
