Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 Livestream - Date, Time & What To Expect

Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 Livestream - Date, Time & What To Expect

Summary The Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 livestream is expected to occur in early June, following the game's regular update schedule.

The new 5-star characters Firefly and Jade are confirmed, with gameplay details leaked that should be revealed during the livestream.

Leaked events for Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 may include updates to the Simulated Universe and an optimized Ornament farming feature.

The Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 livestream event is not too far away as the popular turn-based RPG moves toward its next patch, following the end of the main Penacony storyline in Version 2.2. The current update not only concluded the Trailblazer’s main adventure in the Planet of Festivities, but also introduced Robin and Boothill as playable characters following their debuts as NPCs. In fact, Honkai: Star Rail 2.2’s Boothill and Fu Xuan are currently available for grabs in the Phase 2 banners for any player who is capable of beating the gacha system’s drop rates.

While there are still a few weeks of content to go through, attention is starting to shift toward Version 2.3 and its upcoming content. There are already two new confirmed 5-star characters arriving in the next patch: Firefly and Jade. Firefly has played an integral role in the Penacony storyline, while Jade has only made subtle appearances in the form of flashbacks and calls on the phone, though both will now appear and be fully playable for those who obtain them. Based on some Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 leaks, there is even more content in store aside from the characters.

By following the game’s regular six-week schedule for every update, it is possible to determine when the Version 2.3 livestream will occur. Because these special events tend to happen two weeks prior to the release of the respective patch and Version 2.3 is due to arrive on June 19 if there are no delays, the Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 livestream should occur on June 7 or June 8. These special events tend to happen during the morning.

The article will be updated once developer HoYoverse announces an official date and time for the special livestream event.

What To Expect From Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 Livestream - New Characters & Leaked Banners

New Units Have Had Some Details Leaked, While Good Rerun Characters Are Rumored

As was previously mentioned, Firefly and Jade are already confirmed as the new 5-star characters for the upcoming patch. Firefly is a Fire unit who follows the Path of the Destruction and, as such, is quite likely a DPS. While no official details about her have been shared so far, leaks indicate that Firefly will transform into the Sam armor and, with it, wreak heavy-hitting AoE attacks against enemies. With her leaked transformation into Sam, Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 may be the first character of her kind. Rumors even indicate she will consume HP for the transformation.

Jade, on the other hand, has been confirmed to be a 5-star Quantum character who follows the Path of the Erudition. As such, she is expected to be a specialist in dealing damage to multiple enemies at once. Like Firefly, Jade’s gameplay kit has not yet been officially described, but multiple leaks indicate that she will be a damage dealer that will operate as a sub-DPS in team comps. According to the Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 leaks about follow-up attacks, she will engage in this type of combat.

If the leak is true, Jade could be a valuable addition to follow-up team comps starred by Dr. Ratio and may even be a viable substitute for Topaz & Numby.

While Firefly and Jade are the new 5-star characters, rerun units should be announced during the Version 2.3 livestream to accompany them. HoYoverse has not yet teased which characters will return to the banners in the next patch, though Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 character banner leaks indicate that Ruan Mei and Argenti will be the rerun units. Ruan Mei is considered the best support unit in the game, while Argenti is acknowledged as one of the best damage dealers, especially when it comes to wiping out multiple opponents at once.

“The game seems to be on full throttle as it continues to add new 5-star characters to utilize in battle and new activities to delve into.”

The rerun characters that have leaked are highly subject to change, so their leaks should be taken with an extra degree of caution. Nevertheless, if the leaks are true, players may face a difficult choice when trying to decide between all the 5-star characters in the patch; the two new units seem to have an interesting approach to gameplay based on the leaks so far, while the leaked rerun characters are well-established as good options to have in several types of team comps. It is uncertain in which order these 5-star characters will appear in the banner structure.

The 4-star characters with enhanced drop rates in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 banners have not been leaked, and the Version 2.3 livestream should confirm them.

Because the main Penacony story quests have come to a conclusion with the arrival of Version 2.2, it is unlikely the next patch will feature main campaign quests. However, there may be new side quests added to complement the story and, perhaps, even hint at some of the details about the aftermath of the events on the Planet of Festivities – this is common for destinations in the game. Nonetheless, the main focus during this patch should be on side activities and events, and a few of them have already been featured in leaks.

The first is that there may be a massive update to the current Simulated Universe activity. Several Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 leaks about Divergent Universe have been shared over the past few weeks, detailing an activity that may actually run alongside the standard version of the roguelike game mode. According to the leaks, Divergent Universe will have its own set of Blessings, Curios, Occurrences, and even rewards to claim. The rumored information also hints at a scaling difficulty increase throughout the activity.

The livestream should confirm gameplay details and reveal whether or not this will be a permanent game mode moving forward, such as the Simulated Universe variants in the Expansion Module, like the Swarm Disaster.

There are also rumors of an update to the Simulated Universe that will allow players to farm Planar Ornaments more efficiently, challenging the bosses from the game mode as if they were regular Cavern of Corrosion domains. In doing so, players may auto-battle the boss and claim the Ornament rewards, without having to go through an entire run of the Simulated Universe. If true, this should be confirmed during the Version 2.3 livestream.

Ahead of the patch’s release, there have also been new Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 event leaks that detail a mini-game centered around Origami Birds in Penacony. The leaks mention that there will be a Candy Crush-inspired activity in which players must defeat characters by matching certain tiles. There have also been mentions of a free 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3 as part of the reward pool for some upcoming event, though it is unknown which one.

While the game has concluded the Penacony storyline and is bound to naturally slow down with its narrative content, the game seems to be on full throttle as it continues to add new 5-star characters to utilize in battle and new activities to delve into. A lot is based on leaks and should be taken with a grain of salt, but considering the recent reliability of leaks, the future of Honkai: Star Rail looks promising, and the Version 2.3 livestream may be the stage to confirm that.
