Summary Star Wars: The Bad Batch has had an incredible 47 episode run, making it difficult to rank these episodes against one another.
From thrilling action-packed episodes to emotional and heartfelt stories, the episodes of The Bad Batch have something for everyone.
The highest ranked episodes are ones that either begin or complete incredible new stories and carry on the narrative in meaningful ways.
The animated Star Wars series Star Wars: The Bad Batch has come to an end, and it's had an extremely impressive 47-episode run. Following Clone Force 99 in the immediate aftermath of Order 66, The Bad Batch has captivated audiences with the heart of its familial relationship and the iconic story connections and lore that root it strongly in its respective Star Wars era. The show has taken what viewers loved most about Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels and has made it one beautiful conjoined story.
While The Bad Batch has certainly had its own fair mixture of highs and lows, its three seasons have never failed to include moments that have left Star Wars viewers reeling. From heartbreaking sacrifices to hopeful reunions, the animated show has certainly surpassed every expectation during its three-year tenure. While it's certainly difficult to put these episodes up against one another, there are still quite a few that stand out above the rest. Here's a look at all 47 episodes of The Bad Batch, ranked from worst to best.

47 "Entombed"
Season 2, Episode 5
Summary The Batch searches for an ancient treasure that stirs up a shocking surprise. Runtime 29 minutes
One of the most difficult parts of ranking a series like The Bad Batch is being faced with the reality that some of its episodes focused on fun adventures and side quests simply cannot match up against its most narratively important and impressive episodes, which is the case for "Entombed" and the next few that follow it. While "Entombed" allows viewers to get to know Phee Genoa, who has since become a beloved character, it doesn't offer much in the way of the season's overarching story. This treasure hunt instead feels like a simple nod to Lucasfilm's own Indiana Jones.
46 "Infested"
Season 1, Episode 13
Summary To save a friend, the Batch plot a mission to sabotage a gangster's operation. Runtime 30 minutes
Similarly to "Entombed," "Infested" is a thrilling adventure, but does little to carry the overall narrative of the season. While aspects of "Infested" have since returned and become more relevant, particularly the Durand family, it still serves as more of a distraction from the overarching story than anything else. There are at least high stakes in this adventure, as Omega is held captive by the Pyke Syndicate to ensure that Clone Force 99 helps Cid to recover their spice, and Roland has a tense showdown with the Pykes as they remove one of his horns.
45 "Retrieval"
Season 2, Episode 10
Summary Attempting to recover a lost asset, the Batch must learn to trust a thief. Runtime 29 minutes
Acting as a second part to the episode before it, "Retrieval" is a necessary yet otherwise ordinary adventure for Clone Force 99. There are several twists and turns that lead to high stakes, with Omega at one point even throwing herself towards molten lava and trusting Hunter to catch her, but this mission yet again underscores the larger narrative. The Batch's ability to trust the young thief is admirable, as is the way Omega inspires him to be better, but the episode pales in comparison to those surrounding it.
44 "Faster"
Season 2, Episode 4

Summary The team enters the colorful and dangerous world of racing. Runtime 26 minutes
"Faster" is an excellent episode in terms of highlighting Tech, a character who is dearly beloved and doesn't have much individual focus prior to this point. Unfortunately, however, it also follows the same pattern as the previous episodes in feeling rather disconnected from the overarching story. Still, this adventure is one that leaves viewers cheering at the screen for Tech, and it also does the work of foreshadowing the season's dark ending by teasing Cid's future betrayal of the Bad Batch. The racing sequence with Tech is nothing short of incredible, as is its score.
43 "Decommissioned"
Season 1, Episode 6
Summary On a mission to acquire a valuable asset, the Batch encounters smugglers after the same target. Runtime 26 minutes
During the very first string of episodic missions the Batch runs on behalf of Cid, the group runs right into two familiar characters from The Clone Wars season 7: Trace and Rafa Martez. This, along with some action against decommissioned Separatist battle droids, makes for an even more fun and exciting adventure, which is all topped off with a tease at the end of the episode that sets up Captain Rex's return. Despite this, it still remains more disconnected than other episodes, which causes it to fall in place with the other episodic adventures.
42 "Rampage"
Season 1, Episode 5
Summary The Batch strike a deal to take on a mission. Runtime 27 minutes
"Rampage" stands apart from the other adventures in that it's the very first job Clone Force 99 takes from Cid, which sets up their long, and later on troubling, partnership. It also features some exciting Star Wars elements, from the Zygerrians seen in The Clone Wars to a rancor who is being requested by none other than Return of the Jedi's Bib Fortuna. This mission is a thrill and features some incredible action as well as character building, setting up the Batch's future as soldiers-turned-mercenaries, though some other missions have even more meaning.
"Rampage" stands apart from the other adventures in that it's the very first job Clone Force 99 takes from Cid, which sets up their long, and later on troubling, partnership.
41 "Pabu"
Season 2, Episode 13
Close
Summary The team takes refuge and finds new allies. Runtime 29 minutes
Compared to all the action the Batch typically sees in every other episode of The Bad Batch, "Pabu" is a nice change in pace. Though there's still certainly some action with the tsunami and earthquakes, this episode is very much focused on the beloved members of Clone Force 99. Pabu has since become a home and a sanctuary to the Batch, and it starts in this episode, which sees them creating bonds with the people of the island and with one another - particularly Tech and Phee. For some, however, this stall in the usual pacing is abrupt compared to others.
40 "Bad Territory"
Season 3, Episode 8
Close
Summary Desperate for intel, Hunter and Wrecker track down a dangerous bounty hunter. Runtime 28 minutes
In a season of otherwise extremely connected and narratively strong episodes, "Bad Territory" falls back into old habits somewhat. Though there are important character building moments between Omega and Crosshair on Pabu, the adventure Hunter and Wrecker take with Fennec Shand feels like a side quest straight out of The Mandalorian season 2: helping with a job to get the information they want. Despite this, it's still a thrilling episode, and any Star Wars addition with Fennec is certainly a standout. It does, however, fall short of the rest of season 3.
39 "Common Ground"
Season 1, Episode 10
Summary A new mission finds the Bad Batch helping a former enemy. Runtime 30 minutes
Though it follows yet another mission for Clone Force 99, "Common Ground" stands apart because of its underlying theme. For the first time since the end of the war, the Batch is tasked with helping a Separatist senator, the same group they fought against for years. This begins to chip away at their identity as soldiers of the Republic as they begin to accept the galaxy that's changing around them. The episode also offers plenty of incredible action and a return to Raxus, which was previously featured in The Clone Wars. Senator Singh has also since returned in season 3.
38 "Paths Unknown"
Season 3, Episode 2
Summary Following a lead, Hunter and Wrecker make a startling discovery. Runtime 27 minutes
"Paths Unknown" acts as an interlude between two episodes set on Mount Tantiss, bridging together the three-episode season premiere and catching viewers up to speed on Hunter and Wrecker's search for Omega. It's a difficult watch in terms of seeing how Omega's absence has affected both Hunter and Wrecker, with the two almost having a role reversal as Hunter's desperation gets the best of him. This episode also features a voice cameo from Daniel Logan, who portrayed Boba Fett in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones.
Unfortunately, however, this episode does fall flat in some ways compared to the two episodes it's set between. It's a necessary story to tell, and it does a wonderful job of portraying just how dark and difficult things have become for Hunter and Wrecker, but many viewers were simply eager to get back to Tantiss to hopefully witness Omega and Crosshair's escape. This episode still has plenty to offer in its own right, from its tense action to its heartbreaking character moments.
37 "Spoils Of War"
Season 2, Episode 1
Summary The Bad Batch plans a risky heist. Runtime 24 minutes
Acting as the first part of season 2's two-episode premiere, "Spoils of War" takes viewers to Serenno, the homeworld of Count Dooku. The episode opens with a fun catch-up on what the Batch has been up to since the season 1 finale, though things take an intense turn when it's time to pull off an important heist mission. It ends on a cliffhanger with Echo, Omega, and Tech trapped within a crate that's in a freefall, which necessitates the viewer to continue for a resolution. It's certainly a solid setup, but there's no doubt its followup is even more thrilling.
36 "Ruins Of War"
Season 2, Episode 2
Summary The Batch must decide who to trust as they plan their escape. Runtime 28 minutes
"Ruins of War" continues the previous episode's story with extremely high stakes, which are set from the get-go when Tech breaks his leg. Similarly to "Common Ground," this episode challenges the Batch to trust those who they were previously fighting against, and it also plants the seed for them to question their paths as mercenaries rather than seeking a true purpose for them in the changing galaxy. Though filled with plenty of action and thought-provoking moments, this two-episode premiere doesn't match up against the other two seasons, causing it to sit lower on the list than the others.
It plants the seed for them to question their paths as mercenaries rather than seeking a true purpose for them in the changing galaxy.
35 "Cut And Run"
Season 1, Episode 2
Close
Summary Hunter and the Bad Batch seek refuge with an old friend. But they quickly discover there are no more safe havens. Runtime 32 minutes
Following up an incredible series premiere, "Cut and Run" reunites viewers with more familiar faces from The Clone Wars: Cut and Suu Lawquane. This episode sees not only the introduction and implementation of chain codes, but it also portrays just how quickly the galaxy transitioned from the Republic to the Empire. Clone Force 99, particularly Hunter, is also faced with the reality of life spent on the run with a child to protect, and their vow to keep Omega with them is the moment this family is born. It's a wonderful follow-up, even if other episodes beat it out.
34 "Tribe"
Season 2, Episode 6
Your browser does not support the video tag.
Summary The Bad Batch helps bring a new friend home. Runtime 28 minutes
"Tribe" stands out due to the return of Gungi, another character who first debuted in The Clone Wars. The Wookiee Jedi-to-be quickly finds himself allied with Clone Force 99, who take it upon themselves to return him home to Kashyyyk. They even help the Wookiees fight against the Empire and the Trandoshans, an experience that makes the Batch truly ponder their role in the galaxy. This episode shares many echoes with "Cut and Run," including Hunter's desire to provide children like Gungi and Omega with a true childhood. This close comparison keeps it lower on the list.
33 "Juggernaut"
Season 3, Episode 12
Summary While seeking an unexpected source, the Batch must make a daring escape. Runtime 23 minutes
Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair find themselves yet again faced with the difficult task of tracking down Mount Tantiss after Omega is captured by the Empire once again. Their adventure in "Juggernaut" sees them working with Phee's help to free Vice Admiral Rampart, their longtime foe, to get coordinates to the Imperial base from him. It's an exciting adventure that moves the story along well, but it's the first of a string of such adventures that keep the story from moving too fast - and it shares an astounding number of similarities with The Mandalorian's "Chapter 15: The Believer."

32 "The Harbinger"
Season 3, Episode 9
Close
Summary As the Batch plans their next move, a mysterious stranger arrives. Runtime 27 minutes
There's no doubt that the most remarkable part of "The Harbinger" is the return of Asajj Ventress, who had previously been thought to be dead. The former Sith assassin shows up on Pabu at Fennec Shand's request to tell the Batch about M-counts, but when Hunter, Wrecker, and Crosshair find out who she really is, they end up having a showdown that's less than successful for the clone squadron. While Ventress' return is certainly something to celebrate, the rest of this episode - including Omega's testing - is less than satisfying, and offers little for the overall narrative.
31 "Cornered"
Season 1, Episode 4
Your browser does not support the video tag.
Summary The Bad Batch make a pit stop for repairs and rations. Little do they know, however, that it's not just the Empire hunting them. Runtime 27 minutes
Easily the biggest highlight of "Cornered" is the animated debut of Fennec, as this marked her first Star Wars appearance outside of her debut in The Mandalorian. The stakes rise for Clone Force 99 as they discover that Omega is being targeted by bounty hunters, with Fennec nearly succeeding in her mission to take Omega from the Batch. This episode is not only fun in terms of character dynamics and story movement, but it's also jam-packed with action, making it an adventure to remember in season 1's front half.
30 "Replacements"
Season 1, Episode 3
Summary The Bad Batch make an unexpected stop, while the Empire introduces its own elite squad. Runtime 30 minutes
Another strong episode in the first half of season 1, "Replacements" gives viewers their first taste of Crosshair's new life within the Empire while also showing the struggles of life on the run for Clone Force 99 - though Crosshair's story is no doubt the highlight. His dark side is shown when he not only kills one of his own troopers, but also orders his squad to fire on every person left in Saw Gerrera's camp - even civilians. It's a haunting image of who Crosshair has become after Order 66, though other episodes feature this even more prominently in season 1.
29 "Devil's Deal"
Season 1, Episode 11
Close
Summary As the seeds of rebellion foment on an Outer Rim world, the Empire schemes to squash it. Runtime 30 minutes
"Devil's Deal" is another episode made for viewers who love The Clone Wars, though it also follows a key Star Wars Rebels character: Hera Syndulla. The Empire is tightening its fist around Ryloth, particularly given Cham Syndulla's Clone Wars history, and Hera's participation in efforts to equip the people of Ryloth leads to her parents and other loved ones being detained. This is the first episode in a thrilling two-parter, though Clone Force 99's small role in the episode knocks it down lower, given that they're the titular characters.
28 "Rescue On Ryloth"
Season 1, Episode 12
Summary The Batch is tasked with a dangerous mission. Runtime 30 minutes
The second part of this arc on Ryloth is no doubt its best, as it not only sees the Batch actively helping Hera in a vital move against the Empire, but it also nearly reunites Crosshair with his former squad yet again. Between captivating action and Hera's earliest piloting endeavor, "Rescue on Ryloth" is an adventure crafted specifically for those who have always loved Star Wars animation. It also spotlights the clone Captain Howzer, who quickly became a fan-favorite following this episode. Only a few other arcs in this TV show best this one.
