Season 4 Was Almost Entirely Sound Mixed By Reeves

In the credits for New Amsterdam season 5, episode 4, "Heal Thyself," where the department heads are instructed to take care of their own medical problems for one day, a dedication card appears that says, "In Memory of Schavaria Reeves, 1965-2022." If any viewers pay close attention to the credits section of New Amsterdam they'll recognize the name as one of the most prolific sound mixers in the series. Reeves worked on 20 episodes of the show, all in season 4, meaning he was responsible for nearly all the sounds of the series from 2021 to 2022.

He notably worked on episodes like "All Night Long" where the show spends most of its runtime on the staff's night out at a karaoke bar. Reeves had to switch up his usual mixing from hospital sounds to create a bar atmosphere, and he did an excellent job of nailing the chaotic, energetic scene.
