Flash's Major Costume Upgrade Would Make His Evil Counterpart Jealous
Summary Flash's suit upgrade for Absolute Power #1 brings a sleek new look with added functionality and armor, giving him an edge in battle.
The updated suit features a face visor and a full-head covering, reminiscent of Earth-3's Johnny Quick.
Flash's revamped color scheme adds gray to the iconic red and yellow, possibly hinting at enhanced features for the speedster's upcoming challenges.
As DC’s blockbuster summer event, Absolute Power, approaches, the Flash, along with the other six Justice League members, are teased to receive costume upgrades. Of particular note is Wally West’s suit, which is notably more speedster-friendly than his current costume. This upgrade will undoubtedly give him an edge in the battles to come and may even spawn some jealousy from other speedsters.
Style-wise, the suit has also changed up Flash's iconic color scheme by adding a notable amount of gray to the red and yellow typically worn by Flashes past and present.

As chaos erupts in the streets and a massive misinformation campaign sways public opinion to her side, the founder of the Suicide Squad methodically targets each superhero dynasty one at a time, starting with SUPERMAN. It's a shocking blitzkrieg across the globe that is decades in the making--and will shape the course of the DC Universe for years to come! However, all hope is not lost, as a variant cover by Mora teases major costume upgrades for various Justice League members to assist them in this daunting conflict. Flash’s revamped suit, in particular, represents a significant upgrade in both style and functionality.
Much like Mora’s design for the Absolute Power Flash, Johnny Quick's suit also incorporates a full-head covering and visor.
Flash’s Costume Upgrade Would Make His Evil Earth-3 Counterpart, Johnny Quick, Jealous
Showcased in Mora’s variant cover, Wally West receives a suit upgrade alongside his Justice League comrades. Of particular note is the significant increase in armor compared to his current attire. Despite its increased bulk, the suit exudes speed with a streamlined design aimed at reducing friction. The addition of a visor and full-head covering suggests a more speedster-friendly approach. Moreover, the inclusion of running-style shoes enhances the suit's overall functionality. Style-wise, the suit has also changed up Flash's iconic color scheme by adding a notable amount of gray to the red and yellow typically worn by Flash.
For fans familiar with Earth-3 narratives featuring the Crime Syndicate, the evil counterpart of the Justice League, the new Flash suit may evoke a sense of déjà vu due to its stylistic resemblance to Johnny Quick, the Syndicate’s speedster. Much like Mora’s design for the Absolute Power Flash, Johnny Quick's suit also incorporates a full-head covering and visor. However, Quick's head covering lends him a somewhat cone-headed appearance, suggesting that this Earth-3 speedster might envy Wally's more aesthetically pleasing design.

Flash’s New Costume May Give Him the Edge He Needs In Absolute Power
As previously mentioned, Mora’s new suit design for Flash could provide the speedster with the advantage he needs in the upcoming Absolute Power battle. While the appearance is undoubtedly more conducive to speed, it may also boast some enhanced features. Although it's challenging to pinpoint these features, one that could greatly benefit the Flash, given his recent storyline, is a suit designed to anchor him to his current reality. In Si Spurrier’s Flash run, Wally has been unintentionally phasing through realities, making a suit that serves as an anchor potentially crucial for him.
