Version 2.3 is still a few weeks away, as the popular turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is just entering Version 2.2, a patch that ends the main Penacony storyline. Robin and Boothill are also being added as new playable characters in Honkai: Star Rail 2.2, widening the possible roster of heroes to use in combat.

Now, new leaks about their animations have been shared. Jade’s leaked animation features the already confirmed 5-star character stepping on a target. The animation is quite short, which implies it is most likely from her Skill or a follow-up attack ability. As Jade is a 5-star unit, this leaked animation is most likely not her Ultimate, which tends to be more elaborate on characters of such a rating. Firefly’s leaked animation, on the other hand, seems to be much longer. The video shows her in Sam’s suit flying around, slashing with her suit’s blades, and ending with a posing animation in Honkai: Star Rail.

Firefly’s leaked animation seems related to her Ultimate as it is not only a long one, but rumors hint at Firefly transforming into Sam with her Ultimate – as such, it would make sense for her Ultimate to end with a new posing animation, showcasing the character’s new visuals in battle. For now, both Jade and Firefly’s rumored animations are showcased individually with the character model and are not represented in battles against regular opponents. Regardless of the current quality of the leak, if true, then some players may face a tough choice in Honkai: Star Rail 2.3.

Both characters have been highly anticipated since their first appearances as NPCs and are now even more awaited since their releases as playable 5-star units have been confirmed. Not only do both have great character designs, but their leaked animations are also enticing for players who rely on visual appeal to pull. With Jade and Firefly coming out in the same patch and the limitations to free Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail, players may have to choose one or the other rather than pull for both.

Though unconfirmed, the character’s releases should be divided, with one debuting in Phase 1 banners and the next in Phase 2.
