How To Rescue Chewbacca In Fortnite

During Fortnite’s latest Star Wars event, players can track down and rescue Chewbacca on the Fortnite island. Everyone’s favorite Wookiee warrior can be found attacking Imperial installations across the island on behalf of the Rebellion. If helped, Chewbacca will join up as an NPC companion and gifts a Mythic quality Wookiee Bowcaster weapon as a bonus reward.

Chewbacca can be found attacking one of six Imperial roadblocks on the Fortnite island and shooting at Stormtroopers. Unlike other NPCs in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, Chewie’s location changes every match, so players won’t be able to find him at the same roadblock all the time. However, there is a reliable way to tell which roadblock he’s attacking, making it much easier to find him.

How To Find Chewbacca On The Fortnite Island

The six Imperial roadblocks are marked on the map above. To find Chewbacca, look for the roadblock with a plume of blue smoke rising from it. The Stormtroopers that guard the roadblock are undoubtedly having trouble fending off Chewie’s attack and may have signaled for help; however, players can also intervene and help the Wookiee out.

Avoid landing at other Imperial roadblocks with blinking red lights and Imperial shuttlecraft. If players land here, they will instead encounter Darth Vader in Fortnite. The Sith Lord can be defeated, at which point he drops his lightsaber, but this involves a very tough boss battle.

Once players have landed, they can help Chewbacca by defeating any remaining Stormtroopers. It’s a good idea to grab a gun or two before attacking; however, Fortnite’s Stormtrooper enemies are just as inaccurate as their movie counterparts and are easy to defeat. After the battle, Chewbacca can be interacted with for some special rewards.

All Rewards From Rescuing Chewbacca In Fortnite

If players have helped him defeat the Stormtroopers, Chewbacca will drop a Wookiee Bowcaster. The Bowcaster is classed as a Mythic quality weapon, making it one of the best weapons in the game. It deals high amounts of damage, balanced with a relatively slow rate of fire, making it ideal for medium to long-range eliminations.

Chewbacca will also join the squad as an NPC companion, lending his brute strength and his Bowcaster's firepower to anyone who helped him out.

However, it’s also a good idea to search the Imperial roadblock for other supplies. Each Stormtrooper drops an E-11 Blaster: a well-rounded laser rifle that many Star Wars fans will recognise. As a laser weapon, the E-11 has infinite ammo. Players can also expect to find other supplies such as Chug Splash, Med Kits, and Shield Potions at roadblocks: all useful items for pursuing a Victory Royale in Fortnite.
