Another Crab’s Treasure: Best Things to Do After Beating The Game

Another Crab’s Treasure: Best Things to Do After Beating The Game

Another Crab's Treasure is a crab-based Soulslike and, in true soulslike fashion, there are still several things to go back to and finish once the credits roll. Despite the game's intensity, it is still a relatively short indie game that many players will hope to return to and, whether that means starting all over or completing 100% of the game, there is something for everyone to do.

Though Another Crab's Treasure is relatively linear in its map, there are still several missable components and there are many intentional things that players have to return for. Thus, the Moon Snail Shells come in very handy. These will allow you to fast-travel to various points in the game, even after the final boss fight, where you'll be returned to your last Moon Snail Shell.

10 Replay Another Crab's Treasure In A New Way

Try A Harder Difficulty Or A Different Build For Kril

Unfortunately, Another Crab's Treasure does not offer players the option of New Game+, so starting over means starting completely over in every aspect. However, this is not necessarily a bad thing. For those who enjoyed the game enough to play it again, there is still a way to give it a unique feel and one of those is changing your difficulties.

If you utilized the Assisted settings or even just the Gun Shell, perhaps try playing on a normal, or even hard difficulty, for added challenge. Additionally, try changing up your build for Kril, something either more tanky or even a glass-cannon build.

The Gun is considered one of the Shells in the catalog of the Moon Snail Shell, so even if not utilizing it, you may want to equip it just momentarily to unlock the achievement for trying on every shell in the game.

9 Unlock All Adaptations

Uncover All 8 Adaptations For Kril

There are a total of 8 different Adaptations in the game for Kril to utilize. While a few of them are related to story content and are thus unmissable, there are several that are related to optional tasks that you will need to go out of your way to track down.

Some include fighting some of the game's optional bosses, while others involve annoying certain NPCs. Additionally, Adaptations can be leveled up to their maximum power with Topoda, the optional boss that will give you the Mantis Punch Adaptation to break Purple Umami Blocks.

Related Another Crab's Treasure: Every Adaptation and How They Work There are eight adaptations in Another Crab's Treasure, but finding them all isn't easy. Here is each one's location and what they do!

8 Defeat All Optional Bosses

Track Down And Fight Every Boss In The Game

Although there is no shortage of bosses in Another Crab's Treasure, there are a couple of optional ones for those looking to engage in a few more fights. These include the Consortium, Grovekeeper Topoda, The Shellsplitter, The Connoisseur, and The Sludge Steamroller.

These bosses are spaced well throughout the game, with the first one appearing in the very first area Kril visits and the others appearing in various areas throughout the rest of the game. Many of these bosses offer substantial rewards and challenging fights, so they're worth tracking down early on, but still worth coming back to post-game if missed.

7 Break All Purple Umami Blocks

Use The Mantis Punch To Unlock Hidden Secrets

While exploring the game, you've likely happened upon several glowing purple blocks randomly scattered throughout the various areas of Another Crab's Treasure. Unfortunately, there is nothing that can break them other than the adaptation given by Topoda in the Curdled Village and, since nothing in the game specifically directs you here, you can entirely miss the opportunity to unlock this ability.

For those who have, or who unlocked it but didn't take time to go break the blocks, it's worth taking some time to track them all down, as several are hiding valuable items like Stainless Relics and even a costume inspired by Solaire in Dark Souls.

6 Collect All Stowaways

Expand Carrying Capacity & Equip Advanced Stowaways

Stowaways are introduced fairly early in Another Crab's Treasure as there is a shop in the Lower Crust of New Carcinia that sells them. Although she offers a wide selection, there are more of them to be found through discovery on the ocean floor.

Additionally, the merchant will typically only offer the basic version of that Stowaway, while Kril can find advanced, more effective, versions of them himself. However, these advanced Stowaways do take up more slots, so be sure to use Microplastics to expand your carrying capacity with the same merchant in New Carcinia.

5 Collect All Costumes

Find & Purchase Every Costume For Kril

Close

Once Kril reaches New Carcinia, he will have access to Shellfish Desires, where he can find Shells available for purchase and a small selection of Costumes. Unfortunately, the selection available when Kril first visits this shop is all that will ever be available here, so to unlock the rest, he will need to find them cleverly hidden throughout the game.

As these are a desired item, they will not be easy to track down. Still, they can be incredibly worth it, as several costumes in the game are references to popular media such as Dark Souls, Cult of the Lamb, and even SpongeBob SquarePants.

4 Max out All Skill Paths

Unlock & Fully Master Three Different Skill Paths

After a bit of progress, Kril will meet the Moon Snail who will unlock the ability to conquer different Skill Paths that change things about the way Kril fights throughout Another Crab's Treasure. There are three different paths to choose from, each with its unique style.

The options include The Path of the Hermit, The Path of the Predator, and The Path of the True Crab. There is no wrong option as it is entirely based on preference, but players should know it is possible to max out all three and take advantage of everything and there is even an achievement associated with doing so.

3 Unlock Every Achievement

Master Another Crab's Treasure By Completing The Game 100%

For all the completionists out there, getting 100% of the achievements in Another Crab's Treasure is a must. However, this is no easy feat, as many of them require incredibly time-consuming tasks such as maxing out skill paths, fighting all optional bosses, and even trying on every shell in the game.

Since many of the achievements can be completed by simply playing through the game, it's recommended that players complete the game and then circle back around to finish up any achievements they missed, rather than trying to accomplish everything during the completion of the first playthrough.

2 Find All The Stainless Relics

Fully Upgrade Kril's Weapon With The Blacksmith

Once again, New Carcinia has a lot to offer, including a Blacksmith capable of upgrading Kril's weapon. Though it may be disappointing that Kril is stuck with his fork throughout the entire game, there are some positives. Throughout the game, Stainless Relics can be earned or found, typically in hard-to-reach places or as a reward for defeating difficult enemies, and then used to upgrade Kril's fork.

Once fully upgraded, Kril will wield a powerful item resembling that of a Trident, at which point an achievement for Another Crab's Treasure will also unlock.

1 Try On All Shells In Another Crab's Treasure

Find & Equip All 69 Shells

There are 69 Shells in Another Crab's Treasure and trying on every one is one of the hardest objectives in the game. Kril can view his collection at any point in one of the Moon Snail Shells to keep track and see how many are still missing. Be sure to purchase all the ones available at Shellfish Desires and equip them to earn credit for those as well, in addition to the Gun from the assist menu.

Lastly, don't forget the rare shells in Another Crab's Treasure, of which there is only one each, the Dark Souls-inspired Knights Helmet and the Skull. Though hard to find, they are a few of the best shells in the game and worth collecting.
