Solo Leveling: ARISE Leaks Showcase Powerful New SSR Weapons & Bosses

Summary Leaks for Solo Leveling: ARISE have revealed new weapons, bosses & mechanics before its May 8, 2024, release date.

SSR weapons, character skins, and a gem system are among the leaked content, offering insights into future gameplay.

Post-launch updates may include an Artifact system and potential heavy monetization through subscription services.

Shortly before the launch of Solo Leveling: ARISE, several new details about the game were leaked, including new weapons and bosses. Based on Solo Leveling, a popular South Korean manhwa that was recently adapted into an anime, Solo Leveling: ARISE follows protagonist Sung Jinwoo, in a setting where fantasy dungeons and monsters have started to appear on Earth - and, as Sung discovers, he has the unique ability to "level up."

In the lead-up to Solo Leveling: ARISE's release date of May 8, 2024, many details, including gameplay mechanics, playable characters, and the gacha system that the game operates on have been revealed through interviews, previews, and trailers. Off the back of Solo Leveling's widespread popularity, which has skyrocketed with the recent anime adaptation, ARISE has quickly become one of the most highly anticipated games on the market - and, like some other gacha games, ARISE has also proven to be prone to leaks, with details surrounding the game's systems, weapons and bosses making their way online before launch.

Solo Leveling: ARISE Leaks Future Content

Leakers Have Revealed Upcoming Weapons, Bosses, & More

Close

Courtesy of leakers AlphaLeaker and armgenesis on X (formerly Twitter), several previously unknown details surrounding Solo Leveling: ARISE's weapons, bosses, and systems have been revealed ahead of launch. Like all leaked content, anything revealed before its official implementation in the game is heavily subject to change, and some of the finer details are uncertain, but following the trend of leaks for other gacha games, such as those developed by HoYoverse, much of the leaked content could reasonably be expected to make its way to the game in a mostly similar state.

Especially notable are the leaks of several SSR weapons, or "relics," some of which are universal, able to be used by any playable character, as opposed to others which are bound to specific characters. Phoenix Soul, for example, showcased by AlphaLeaker, is a fiery bow seemingly exclusive to Sung, which sends out extra fire projectiles when shot. Another SSR weapon for Sung, the Skadi Pistol, is specified to be intended for release after Phoenix Soul, though release periods are vague for the time being.

Other notable content leaks include several bosses, with many, like Kaisel, Baran, and Architect, being recognizable monsters/characters from the original source material. For the most part, leaks of bosses and enemies are incomplete, with missing textures on models or unfinished art. Alongside these leaks, the inclusion of character skins has also been revealed, with AlphaLeaker showing off skins for Sung Jinwoo, Cha Hae-In, and Alicia Blanche. It currently seems as though a skin for Sung will be available on a battle pass, while the skins for Cha and Alicia will be purchasable from a store.

In terms of other future content, leaks indicate that the game's story will have 18 chapters, with the last three chapters being made available either at launch or shortly after, and that players will be able to replay story chapters on a harder difficulty for additional rewards. Another feature, "Reverse Story," will seemingly allow players to play story segments as any playable character, instead of Sung Jinwoo, who, as the main character, is naturally the focus of much of the story.

Solo Leveling: ARISE's Leaked Systems

Leaks For ARISE Include Further Features & Systems

Other leaks, aside from character, weapon, or boss details, have shed more light on the game's systems and mechanics. Most notably, the leaked Gem feature seemingly allows players to gain stat boosts and other bonuses through earning and slotting in Gems. So far, the exact numerical values of Gems and their overall importance to builds is unknown, but a list of effects posted by AlphaLeaker shows that they can affect stats like Attack, Defense, HP, and Critical Hit Chance. According to AlphaLeaker, Gems will be rewarded through "certain types of Raids," but further details are currently unknown.

Another leak, this time from armgenesis, details other system changes and additions that are likely to make their way to the game in later updates. For the most part, these have to do with ARISE's Artifacts, an equipment system that heavily resembles the systems of other gacha games like Genshin Impact, where pieces of equipment have set bonuses and randomized stats. Of particular note is the ability to reroll stats through a system called Engraving, and the ability to transfer levels between different artifacts.

While the ability to reroll stats on Artifacts is somewhat generous compared to other gacha games like Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail, the leaks do note that the Engraving system will have an upper limit of 10 rerolls, after which players will have to pay a resource to reset the limit. The resource is currently unknown, but suspected to be Diamond, the game's premium currency.

Other details include resources for duplicating copies of already-owned characters or weapons, allowing players to receive certain bonuses without explicitly having to pull the character/weapon again, a vague "Dimensional Enhancement" system for currently unknown upgrades, and an additional job, Monarch of Shadows: Rebel Leader, for Sung Jinwoo. For the most part, these systems can be expected to come to the game after its launch, and will presumably be officially introduced in post-launch updates and patches.

Unfortunately, some leaks have indicated that the game may be subject to heavy monetization, even by the standards of other gacha games. The "Special Hunter Subscription Service," as leaked by armgenesis, for example, seemingly allows players to pay a monthly fee for special gacha-pulling resources and daily in-game gifts. While these bonuses are nothing out of the ordinary for gacha games, many of which also include monthly passes, ARISE is seemingly set to lock the feature of automatic farming behind the subscription as well.

Similarly to many other modern gacha games, Solo Leveling: ARISE has had much of its future content leaked, giving informed players an idea of what the game's first few post-launch updates might include. While leaked content is often still actively in development, and therefore subject to change, it can still give players a good approximation of a game's future plans, which, especially in gacha games like Solo Leveling: ARISE, can be important for those who need to plan around spending limited resources.
