How To Cure Disease In Manor Lords

In Manor Lords, players are charged with maintaining the well-being of their citizens and settlements. While bandits and the ever-approaching winter months are a constant threat, diseases, and sickness are equally dangerous. Disease can easily sweep through villages and wipe out large chunks of the population, but there are ways to fight off illness in Manor Lords.

There are dozens of resources to keep track of in Manor Lords, but none are as important as the population of any given settlement. The citizenry is essential to maintaining a functioning economy. Increasing population growth allows players to generate more regional wealth, which is then used to create treasury funds. None of this is possible if citizens are too sick to work or if they start dying from disease if it gets bad enough.

Prevent Diseases Using Plants & Food

The best way to cure diseases in Manor Lords is through herbs. These medicinal plants are gathered through the Forager Hut, which only costs one timber to build. The Forager Hut is primarily used to gather berries, a fairly cheap food source, but it can be upgraded to include a Herb Garden.

The Herb Garden is costly, requiring 25 regional wealth and two planks, but considering how debilitating sickness can be, it is essential.

Planks easily rank among the most important resources regarding construction. Before upgrading your Foraging Hut into a Herb Garden, ensure you have plenty of planks on hand. You can get planks by collecting Timber from a Logging Camp and taking that Timber to a Sawpit. Regional wealth is money that is passively earned in Manor Lords by your villagers as they produce valuable materials. You can also get necessary building materials by establishing trading routes and exporting excess supplies.

How To Prevent Diseases In Manor Lords

You will inevitably face disease at some point during your playthrough, but there are precautions that you can take to reduce your encounters with illness. In most cases, diseases in Manor Lords start when your citizens do not have access to a wide range of foods. Suppose you only have one or two sources of food available in Manor Lords. In that case, your population can become increasingly susceptible to illness and starvation if that food resource dries up.

Berries and meat are the best foods to help prevent diseases, but you should look into growing bread, eggs, and other sources to supplement your food supply and fight illness. Berries are also earned through the Foraging Hut, while meat requires you to set up a Hunting Camp in an area with a suitable wildlife population.

If you’ve committed to foods, such as bread, with a long start-up time and fear that sickness might strike before harvest season, then it may be best to turn to trade. Overall, keeping your population healthy and in high spirits is essential to growth and development in Manor Lords.
