Summary Pretty Little Liars: Summer School features familiar faces from the original show, along with new characters and a storyline focused on trauma recovery.

Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa navigate the challenges of summer school, jobs, boys, and a new villain, "Bloody Rose."

The second season picks up from the events of "Original Sin," exploring Imogen's struggles with trauma, Tabby's film release, Mouse's obsessions, and more.

Pretty Little Liars: Summer School is the second season of the Max spin-off of the popular teen drama Pretty Little Liars, and many cast members from season 1 (subtitled Original Sin) return in the new episodes, with a handful of new faces sprinkled in. The slasher teen drama mystery series, created by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, is the fourth installment in the Pretty Little Liars franchise and exists in the same universe as the original show (as proven by the mention of Aria and Ezra in the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin finale).

Season 2 of the Max original series picks up where season 1 left off — with "A," aka Archie Waters, escaping from police custody, determined to tie up some of his loose ends. However, the premiere of Pretty Little Liars: Summer School soon jumps ahead to the end of the school year, with Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa ready to enjoy a carefree summer, until the principal informs them they must attend summer school. The teenage girls now have jobs, boys, and school to worry about (along with a new villain "Bloody Rose" stalking the show's central friend group).

Madison began acting in commercials when she was two weeks old, but the Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin star ultimately broke big when she played May Belle Aarons in Bridge to Terabithia as a seven-year-old. However, Madison has appeared in numerous television shows and movies.

Character: Madison plays one of the five main characters in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School — Imogen Adams. In the previous season, Imogen was raped by Chip Langsberry and got pregnant. By the finale, she had given birth to a baby girl and decided to give her up for adoption. So, when season 2 begins, Imogen struggles to come to terms with the situation while attempting to recover from the trauma that "A" and Chip gave her and dealing with summer school. But at least Imogen has a new job at an ice cream shop and a possible summer fling.

Chandler Kinney As Tabby Haworthe

However, she can't help but develop feelings for the new guy at work, Christian.

Zaria As Faran Bryant

Annabeth Gish as Dr. Anne Sullivan - Annabeth Gish reprises her role as Dr. Anne Sullivan from the original Pretty Little Liars series in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Dr. Sullivan returns to help Imogen, Tabby, Faran, Mouse, and Noa recover from the events involving "A" in season 1. Aside from Pretty Little Liars, viewers may recognize Gish from her roles in Mystic Pizza, Double Jeopardy, The X-Files, The West Wing, Halt and Catch Fire, or Sons of Anarchy.

Ben Cook as Henry Nelson - Henry Nelson, played by Ben Cook, returns in season 2. As fans may recall, Henry is Faran's ballet partner and boyfriend. Cook has also starred in Ragtime, Billy Elliot the Musical, Mean Girls, and West Side Story on Broadway and as a Jet in Stephen Spielberg's 2021 feature film version of West Side Story.

Derek Klena as Wes - Derek Klena returns as Wes, Tabby's boss at the movie theater, in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Outside the Max slasher series, Kelna has appeared in the Broadway shows Anastasia, Jagged Little Pill, and Moulin Rouge! and in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix.

Ava Capri as Jen - Ava Capri makes her Pretty Little Liars debut as Jen in Summer School. Jen, who gets a job at the same restaurant as Noa, was in juvie with Noa, and it's clear that the two close while incarcerated. Viewers may recognize Capri from her roles as Lucy in Love, Victor and Carissa in Do Revenge.

Noah Alexander Gerry as Christian - Noah Alexander Gerry's Christian is another new character in season 2 who captures Tabby's attention when he starts working at the movie theater and sparks start flying between the two film fanatics. Aside from Pretty Little Liars on Max, Gerry has starred in The Young and the Restless (as Charlie Ashby for over 130 episodes), Fuller House, Grey's Anatomy, and Station 19.

Loretta Ables Sayre as Lola - While Mouse's mothers spend the summer away from Millwood on vacation, Mouse's grandmother, Lola, played by Loretta Ables Sayre, comes to stay with her. Before acting, Sayre performed jazz standards at luxury hotels in Hawaii for three decades. She was also nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for playing Bloody Mary in South Pacific in 2008.

Antonio Cipriano as Johnny - Johnny, portrayed by Antonio Cipriano, is the final new recurring cast member in Pretty Little Liars: Summer School. Imogen works with Johnny at the ice cream shop during the summer, and the two can't deny the chemistry between them. Cipriano is known for his role as Phoenix in Jagged Little Pill on Broadway, but he has also starred in The Sex Lives of College Girls, Harlan Coben's Shelter, and National Treasure: Edge of History.
