After much speculation about his career, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Kobe Blaise has revealed a new business venture. The Cameroon native, who shares three children with wife Emily Bieberly, has received a lot of criticism for continuing to have children with Emily while living in her parents’ basement. In addition to the new job he revealed during the 90 Day Fiancé season 9 Tell All episode, Kobe is also seeking financial independence by starting his own business and becoming an entrepreneur.
Emily and Kobe’s relationship has been difficult at times, especially since Kobe had to adjust to life in Emily’s town of Salina, Kansas. The couple argued over Emily’s controlling nature, which added to the pressure already on Kobe. His legal status prevented him from seeking employment, and finances have been a frequent source of tension between the couple. Emily even bought her engagement ring because she didn't trust Kobe to buy her one. This displayed a lack of faith in Kobe, which was hurtful to him.

Kobe and Emily met while they were both traveling in China. What began as a one-night stand turned into a romance and a whirlwind engagement; Emily then found out she was pregnant. She returned to Kansas and began trying to get Kobe into the United States. This proved more difficult than the couple realized, especially when COVID added extra complications to international travel.
The K-1 visa process delayed Kobe’s arrival in the U.S., and he was forced to miss the birth of his and Emily’s son, Koban. It took two years before Kobe finally moved to Kansas. Upon meeting his son for the first time, Kobe was reduced to tears by the reality of being a father and husband-to-be. At the same time, he realized how much time he had to make up with Koban. Resuming his relationship with Emily after two years apart was more difficult than Kobe anticipated, and the couple’s lack of private space posed an additional challenge.

Emily and Kobe knew they were not in the ideal financial position to have another child. Emily, who was working as a nanny, was the sole provider due to Kobe’s inability to work, and having another child would impact her earning potential.
Kobe's lack of income put a financial strain on Emily's parents.
Emily’s parents were shocked by news of the couple’s second pregnancy. Emily’s father was particularly disappointed, as the one thing he had asked was for them not to have another baby while living in his house. Her sister thought Emily and Kobe were taking advantage of her parents, and Emily not realizing the financial burden she placed on her family. Emily’s father even talked about postponing his retirement due to the strain of supporting his daughter’s family.
Emily’s parents had expressed concerns about the couple’s financial fitness early on. When it was revealed Emily bought her engagement ring, her father remarked he was surprised she could afford it. Upon Kobe’s arrival in Kansas, he and Emily appeared disconnected about finances. Kobe often avoided Emily’s questions about money. In discussions with her parents, Emily attributed Kobe’s lack of work to him needing a Green Card, but when asked what type of work he would do, she admitted she didn't know.
Kobe was working as an underwear model in China when he and Emily met. Emily noted Kobe had been out of work before his move to America due to COVID-19. In Cameroon, Kobe had invested in a café, but he ended up selling it without making a considerable profit. At one point, Kobe spoke with Emily’s father about working for his architecture business, citing experience in civil engineering. However, Kobe admitted he didn't have any training other than a high school degree, and Emily’s father quickly shut the idea down.
Kobe finally obtained his work visa, allowing him to earn an income in America. At the 90 Day Fiancé season 9 Tell All, Kobe was happy to confirm he had a new job in quality control for an asphalt company. The Blazes Wear website currently lists four styles, but it’s likely Kobe will be adding more to his catalog in the future.
Kobe is using his work as an underwear model and new-found fame to create and be successful in his underwear line.
Considering Kobe’s struggle to support his family upon moving to the United States, it seems natural for him to start his own business.
