Civll War has passed a major milestone at the worldwide box office. The new movie is the latest project from writer-director Alex Garland, whose previous work includes Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Men. Set in a near-future dystopian America, the movie follows a team of journalists documenting a civil war that has broken out on U.S. soil in the wake of California and Texas attempting to secede from the union. The ensemble cast of the movie includes Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Nick Offerman, and Jesse Plemons.

Per Collider, the Civil War box office has reached $104 million worldwide during its fourth week in theaters. This makes the movie the second A24 movie to ever cross the $100 million milestone, behind the 2022 Best Picture winner Everything Everywhere All At Once ($143.4 million). It is also the tenth movie overall to cross that global milestone in 2024, already surpassing the $100.3 million gross of the Dakota Johnson superhero movie Madame Web to become the No. 9 movie of the year so far.
