Sasha Pieterse’s Zoe Might Be The Evil Twin In The Image Of You Clip

Summary Screen Rant presents clip from the upcoming movie The Image of You.

Sasha Pieterse shines in her dual roles as Anna and Zoe, teasing a tense twin sister dynamic.

The movie is a fitting followup for Pieterse post-Pretty Little Liars, as that show could have had a twin sister storyline.

The Image of You is a new romantic thriller from The Simple Life and Flipping Virgins director Jeff Fisher, and Screen Rant has a clip introducing one of its key relationships. The movie is based on a 2017 book of the same name by Adele Parks, which centers around identical twins Anna and Zoe in the lead-up to Anna’s marriage to new fiancé Nick. The movie was written by Chris Sivertson, whose past work includes Heatwave and Sorority Sister Killer.

Screen Rant is happy to present a clip from The Image of You which details the meeting of Nick (Parker Young) and Zoe (Sasha Pieterse). In it, Zoe catches Nick operating multiple dating profiles even while he is engaged to her sister, teasing Pieterse’s skill in performing identical twins. Take a look at the clip and get ready to watch the movie May 10 when it will be simultaneously released in theaters and on digital platforms.

How The Image Of You Delivers On A Cut Storyline From Sasha Pieterse’s Biggest Show

Close

Long before Sasha Pieterse pulled double duty on The Image of You, she played one of Pretty Little Liars’ best characters in Alison DiLaurentis. Despite running for seven seasons, that show opted not to adapt one key storyline from its source material, which was that of Alison’s twin sister, Courtney DiLaurentis. Courtney’s existence facilitated some of the biggest twists and turns of Sara Shepard’s Pretty Little Liars book series, and although that story wasn’t realized in the show, audiences can now at least see Pieterse portraying identical twins.

The “evil twin” trope was also explored in the Pretty Little Liars books, with the worst things Alison did coming into play to help answer the question. The official The Image of You synopsis points out the differences between the twins by calling Anna “trusting” and Zoe “skeptical”, and the trailer even suggests things take a violent turn after Zoe begins sleeping with Nick. The truth about the twins’ morality won’t be known until the movie is out, but The Image of You does look to explore a similar dynamic to what could have been in Pretty Little Liars.

Of course, the two projects are different in tone, and The Image of You’s R rating suggests it will go to places Pretty Little Liars couldn’t. Pretty Little Liars was sex positive much of the time, but The Image of You will be more graphic, with a rating description promising nudity, sexual content, and some violence. How that will play out in the dynamic between Anna and Zoe will have to wait until the movie is out.

The Image of You is out May 10 on digital and in select theaters.
