Twisters Is Already Somehow Making Tornadoes Even More Terrifying Than The Original Twister
Summary More terrifying tornadoes await in Twisters, with Lee Isaac Chung and Mark L. Smith behind the scenes.
Twisters promises bigger and bolder action sequences than its predecessor, focusing on character relationships.
The sequel raises the stakes with fire tornadoes and a cluster of sisters combining into a super tornado.
Based on the latest trailer, Twisters seems to have made tornadoes even more terrifying than its predecessor (and they were already pretty scary in the first movie). Twisters has some top talent working behind the scenes: it’s being directed by Minari’s Lee Isaac Chung with a script by The Revenant’s Mark L. Smith from a story by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski. Smith and Kosinski have proven they can deliver the spectacle and high-octane thrills, while Chung’s direction will surely keep the focus on the characters and their relationships.
Acting as a standalone follow-up to Twister, Twisters stars Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones as a pair of storm chasers who risk their lives to test an experimental new weather alert system. Like James Cameron’s Aliens, Twisters has pluralized the first movie’s title to promise bigger and bolder action sequences. From the looks of the newly released footage in the second Twisters trailer, the sequel has made its tornadoes even scarier and more destructive than the storms seen in the first film.
The First Twister Did For Tornadoes What Jaws Did For Sharks
The first Twister movie essentially did for tornadoes what Jaws did for sharks. It took a real-life terror that everyone knows about but not everybody gets to experience first-hand, and showed them what it looks and feels like up close. Tornadoes were already terrifying, but Twister put audiences right in the middle of one and surrounded them with destruction. But, as much as Twister depicted tornadoes as a true force of nature and frightening in their own right, the sequel seems to have made them even scarier.
Twisters Is Making Tornadoes Even More Terrifying (& Includes A Fire Tornado)
The tornadoes in the original Twister were absolutely terrifying, but Twisters seems to have managed to ratchet up the terror and intensity for an even more exhilarating viewing experience. Twisters looks to be focusing even more on the awe-inspiring spectacle of tornadoes and raising the stakes as the storm chasers chase after even bigger storms with even more catastrophic consequences. The second trailer focuses a lot more on the destruction and chaos that the tornadoes cause.
Twisters is doubling down on the original’s twin tornadoes with a cluster of tornadoes referred to as “sisters.” In Twisters, the twins combine to form one big super tornado. It has a water tower being knocked over onto a building and fireworks getting sucked into a tornado. In the new Twisters trailer’s most thrilling moment, a series of explosions feed into a tornado and set it on fire. Suffice to say, it’s looking like a pretty exciting movie.
