Elden Ring is an already stunning game with killer visuals and art direction but those players wanting to spruce up the graphics are luck because one fan has managed to remaster the entire RPG. Developer FromSoftware has a reputation for releasing updated versions of its more popular titles, as evidenced by Dark Souls Remastered and Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin, both of which introduced plenty of improvements to the originals' presentation. Elden Ring may not need an official update just yet but for those who want an upgrade, a fantastic mod can do just that.
Posted to Nexus Mods by creatorn L00, the "Elden Ring - Remastered" mod is an "entirely custom made ReShade shader" that fixes many of the game's more lackluster colors, textures, and environmental lighting.
Additionally, it also introduces improved post-processing that doesn't detract from FromSoftware's original creative vision for its massive open-world RPG. Skies, fog, and foregrounds have also all been overhauled to make each one more immersive for players while also improving their readability, potentially making some challenging sections slightly more tolerable.

How To Improve On Perfection
Elden Ring Remaster Is Just In Time For The DLC
The release of Elden Ring - Remastered arrives just ahead of the forthcoming expansion Shadow of the Erdtree which promises to be a dramatic addition to the base game. Veterans of the RPG should have just enough time to run through the original story, equipped with all the new visual upgrades, before making their way directly into the DLC which, based on FromSoftware's description, will introduce dozens of hours of new content. As far as newcomers are concerned, it might be challenging to beat such a punishing experience, especially one so sprawling, before Shadow of the Erdtree.
Shadow of the Erdtree launches on June 21.
While some may believe that it's too early to remaster Elden Ring, given that it was only released in 2022, there's a decent chance that mods may be the only way to improve upon the game's graphics and mechanics. FromSoftware has confirmed that Shadow of the Erdtree is the only extra piece of content planned for the RPG, many more expansions aren't on the cards. It's possible that the studio will return to the world for another game but this has yet to be confirmed by the studio.
Elden Ring - Remastered is a testament to how much the game's player base adores the world of The Lands Between given the sheer amount of effort that's gone into improving so many different aspects. The modding community that's been built around FromSoftware's RPGs is genuinely impressive as creators are always releasing new add-ons to tweak the experience in myriad different ways. Once Shadows of the Erdtree arrives, it'll be exciting to see what everyone makes next.
