Characters like Annihilus and Typhoid Mary embody the Sith conqueror archetype with shifting allegiances and psychic powers.

Villains like Thanos and Magneto share Sith-like philosophies and powers, making them formidable Sith contenders.

Marvel and Star Wars are two Disney properties that have become increasingly intertwined, with characters and stories that leave people wondering what it would be like should they cross properties. The Sith are especially interesting, with plenty of Marvel villains displaying powers or ideologies similar to those of the famed Star Wars villains. Because the Sith value raw emotion and often end up being conquerors in their respective eras, there are a variety of different Marvel villains that would work perfectly as Sith.

Aside from this, there are many Marvel characters with powers that emulate the use of the Force. The Force can be used in many mysterious ways, telekinesis being one of them, and there are many Marvel superpowers that could be explained away by citing a connection to the Force. Because of these reasons and many more, these Marvel villains would make some of the most fearsome Sith to ever cross the galaxy.

10 Mystique Would Keep The Jedi Guessing

Her Ability To Blend In Would Make Her A Frightening Sith

Close

Also known as Raven Darkhölme, Mystique is a character with complicated allegiances, at times working with the X-Men and at times working against them. Possessing powerful shape-shifting abilities, she constantly keeps her enemies wondering who or where she is. Little is known about her true origins or ever revealed in her comic book appearances, adding to the mystery surrounding her character.

This intrigue is one of the reasons Mystique would make a powerful Sith. With ever-changing allegiances and no clear dedication to one side, she would be perfect to go along with the seemingly ever-changing whims of the dark side. Mystique is only beholden to herself and the ones she cares about, not some concept of the greater good, and this above all else is what would make her a powerful Sith.

9 Green Goblin Is A Chaotic Choice For A Sith

A Tech-Proficient Sith Would Be A Major Threat

Close

Operating as one of Spider-Man’s most fearsome villains, Green Goblin is a persona of powerful business person Norman Osborn. This persona was created as a side effect of a strength enhancing serum that Osborn was developing, and though it left him with superhuman strength, it cost him his sanity in the end. He was also gifted with a genius level of intelligence, capable of crafting various devices like his iconic pumpkin bombs or glider.

Technology is something that has always been tied to the Sith, whether it be through the Death Star super weapon, the Inquisitors’ lightsabers, or Darth Vader’s cybernetic suit. Aside from his morals lining up with those of the Sith, Green Goblin would fit right in with an Imperial society that values technology above much else. A Sith that utilizes the Force and concussion grenades in equal measure would be an interesting fight to see.

8 Annihilus Fits The Sith Conqueror Archetype

There Have Been Plenty Of Sith Conquerors In Canon And Legends

Close

Over the years, many different Sith have acted as conquerors across the galaxy. The Sith Empire is a famous and recurring image throughout Star Wars history, with the Empire of Darth Sidious being the most famous of all. In fact, Annihilus bears many striking similarities to Darth Sidious.

Acting as a conqueror in the Marvel universe, Annihilus was a tyrant hell-bent on invading Earth among other realms and adding it to his collection of conquered lands. Not only this, but he was similarly obsessed with extending his own lifespan, just like Darth Sidious would come to be later in life. He was even reborn, with there being multiple Annihilus grown from small larvae. It is not difficult to imagine Annihilus in a similar place to Darth Sidious in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, extending his own life through the use of his clones.

7 Typhoid Mary Has Sith-Like Powers

And Her Loyalties Are Constantly Changing

Close

Another character with shifting allegiances, Typhoid Mary was known for both working with the villain Kingpin and the hero Daredevil on different occasions. Living with a split personality between “Mary” and “Typhoid,” her quest is one towards better mental health. Despite her inclination towards hurting others at the Kingpin’s hands, she eventually does find happiness.

Typhoid Mary's powers emulate those granted by the dark side of the Force. Not only does she have a number of psychic abilities, and is able to weave her way into the minds of others, but she can also move objects just like any Force-user can. Though her telekinetic powers might not be quite as strong as many on the dark side, she would more than make up for it with her ability to get into people’s heads.

6 Thanos’ Unforgiving Morality Is Similar To The Sith

His Conquest Would Devastate The Galaxy

Close

Thanos is one of the most recognizable villains in the entire MCU, standing as the central villain of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Another conqueror, Thanos was set on making the world a better place through the equal slaughter of countless innocent people across the galaxy. In his frightening philosophy, if enough people are to die, then it would allow many more to live by solving problems that come with overpopulation.

This already sounds like the philosophy of an evil Sith, and it is not difficult to imagine a world where there was a Sith who felt it necessary to reshape the galaxy in his image. Countless others have tried for various reasons, and Darth Sidious even found success with the help of Darth Vader. If Thanos were to have been a Sith, his path would be sure to leave countless dead in his warpath across the galaxy.

5 Magneto’s Powers Emulate The Use Of The Force

And His Philosophy Would Identify With The Sith

Close

One of the most complex villains in all of Marvel, Magneto is a character mired in tragedy and death. Believing in the superiority of mutants over the rest of mankind, he made it his mission to subjugate those he deemed to be beneath him, just as he was once subjugated. Seeking to make a better world, he commits atrocities for the sake of improving the lives of mutants exclusively. He also has the ability to manipulate metal, often using powers that look a great deal like the Force.

If Magneto were to have been a Sith Lord, it is easy to see him rising to power out of some sort of sense of injustice. The world of Star Wars is often just as corrupt as our own, with Chancellor Palpatine rising to power in the Senate by manipulating and extorting this fact. If Magneto were to try and reshape the world in his image for whatever group he sets his heart on, with power as great as his it is possible that he could be successful.

4 Purple Man Would Be A Horrifying Reminder Of The Evils Of The Sith

He Would Be One Of The Most Frightening Star Wars Villains

Close

An often overlooked villain in terms of popularity, the Purple Man Zebediah Killgrave is one of the most terrifying characters in the entire Marvel franchise. Possessing the power to control people’s minds, the Purple Man is capable of getting almost anyone to do anything he wants. This, coupled with his cruelty and selfishness, has led him to commit unspeakable acts, both on the people around him and by using them as well.

The Force has already been shown to be able to alter the minds of others through uses such as the Jedi Mind Trick. If a Sith were to take that ability to the extreme, they would be a terrifying force to be reckoned with. The Purple Man would be able to get most anything he wanted with few able to do anything about it. Only someone equally strong in the Force would be able to defend against such a strong attack on their mental faculties.

3 Dark Phoenix Is The Perfect Jedi Turned Sith

Her Dark Side Turn Would Mirror Anakin Skywalker’s

Close

The Dark Phoenix Saga of X-Men comics is often cited as one of the best in all of Marvel history, following the downfall of Jean Grey after she absorbs a cosmic power known as the Phoenix Force. Capable of all the powers possessed by the Sith and more, Jean Grey was once a valued member of the X-Men. However, because of the influence of forces such as the Hellfire Club, she found herself spiraling as the Phoenix took over and became Dark Phoenix.

Dark side turns are something commonly seen in Star Wars, with many Sith starting out as Jedi. Some of the most recognizable turns to the dark side include none other than Anakin Skywalker, as well as Count Dooku and Kylo Ren. Dark Phoenix would be among these fallen from grace, perhaps creating one of the most impactful Sith of all time.

2 Doctor Doom Would Be A Sith Working Towards A Better World

He Was A Ruler, The Same As Chancellor Palpatine

Close

Known for ruling the Kingdom of Latveria, Dr. Victor von Doom is a powerful sorcerer with intentions of conquering the world. In his youth, his face was disfigured in an accident, leading him to wear not only a metal mask, but an intimidating suit of armor as well. Believing that a world under his order would be a more peaceful one, he follows in the line of would-be conquerors with aspirations to remake the world in their own image.

With powers similar to those of the Nightsisters of Dathomir and an image similar to that of Darth Vader, Doctor Doom already seems like a great candidate for a Sith. And like Count Dooku, he would likely use his influence in order to bring about the rise of the Sith. Instead of ruling countries, he would be conquering planets and building an Empire like that of Darth Sidious.

1 Carnage Is The Ultimate Sith To Bring Down The Galaxy

Not Even Darth Maul Could Match His Rampage

Close

Born from a serial killer known as Cletus Cassidy, Carnage is the unity of one evil man with a superpower granting symbiote. The symbiote known as Carnage grants him incredible powers, including incredible strength and the ability to summon powerful tendrils. Cassidy shares a telepathic bond with Carnage, with the two of them bonded down to his very blood, and if the symbiote were to ever be removed, it would cause him to die.

Though these powers are not very similar to those granted by the Force, the pure destruction that a man like Carnage could cause would be absolutely devastating. He would lay waste to the galaxy in a similar manner to characters such as Darth Maul, filled with rage and killing indiscriminately. He would be one of the most fearsome threats Star Wars has ever faced.
