Poem: I Know This Place

Poem: I Know This Place

I know this place:

When you gaze out

Of the window

You can see deer

Playing with the wind;

The gentle wind with

Salt on its tongue

Becomes one with

The rising sun.

I know this place:

Where tender rabbits

Dance around trees,

Where the oceanic breeze

Plays with your long hair

And you forget about despair.

I know this place:

Where the ocean

Turns orange at

The twilight hour and

Holds you in its power.

I know this place:

Where the waiters

Are dressed up and polite

And serve the choicest

Meat and the finest, vintage wine:

The waiters know instinctively

When it is time for us to dine.

I know this place:

Where the singers and

Other musicians will

Wait for your request:

They will play our

Special song, honey,

Till the break of dawn.

I know this place:

It is expensive

But what’s money

Between friends?

After all, we’re in \

This together, you and I,

Till the end.
