Summary Patch 7 for Baldur's Gate 3 is coming this September with official mod support, allowing players to create their own content.

The closed alpha starts June 3, exclusive to mod creators, followed by a closed beta in July for lucky applicants.

Larian Studios is focusing on player-generated content with no DLC planned, giving players the freedom to bring their ideas to life.

Larian Studios finally confirmed when Baldur's Gate 3's highly-anticipated Patch 7 will drop and while it's still a few months away, it's bringing a major feature the game. After the developer announced that it had officially wrapped up support for its sprawling Dungeons & Dragons RPG, many fans questioned whether any additional content would be provided for Tav and his party of adventurers. While Larian may not be working on any DLC or expansions, the studio is instead allowing players to build their own creations thanks to official mod support.

Posted to X (formerly Twitter), Larian Studios announced that Patch 7 is currently slated to arrive in September 2023 but some lucky players will be able to experience the update sooner than the rest of the community.

The patch, which is largely focused on implementing mod support, will host a closed alpha build in starting from today, June 3, and then a round of closed beta testing in July. The alpha is an invitation-only affair and will almost exclusively feature active mod creators while the beta will be open for 1,000 lucky applicants.
