Fallout 4 Player Transforms Codsworth Into Hilarious But Terrifying Terminator
Summary Codsworth transforms into a menacing killing machine with upgrades in Fallout 4 - a look reminiscent of Terminator or Helldivers.
The Automatron DLC pack allows players to enhance their robot companions, such as Codsworth, with new parts and modifications.
Upgrading Codsworth is recommended to keep up with tougher enemies in the game, ensuring his effectiveness and viability.
Codsworth may start off his Fallout 4 journey as a mild-mannered Mr. Handy that's satisfied to provide help and assistance to the Sole Survivor, but one player managed to make the robot into a terrifying Terminator-esque machine of death. Even when he hasn't been fitted with various upgrades and improvement, Codsworth is able to hold his own in battle but admittedly, that's not his primary function. Unlike the more devasting Mr. Gutsy variant, he doesn't have the kind of firepower that could take out small squad of raiders on his lonesome.
Over on Reddit, user MrAchilles shared their intimidating version of Codsworth and the heavily-modded version of the companion looks almost identical to a sinister Automaton from Helldivers 2.
His levitation system has been replaced wth a pair fair of thick, armored legs while his three appendanges have been stripped down to two, with each arm sporting a devasting saw blade and a set of claws, respectively. Perhaps most impressive is the addition of the skull faceplate which seats neatly inside the Protectron-like chest cavity, making Codsworth resemble a beefy Necron from the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

Codsworth Is A Companion Like No Other
Surviving The Nuclear Apocalypse With Class
While Codsworth's "final form" seems like something that could only be achieved with the help of mods, MrAchilles confirmed that every tweak and alteration was achieved with the Automatron DLC pack which adds hundreds of new parts for Fallout 4's robot characters. With the expansion, which was originally seen as a disappointing add-on when it launched 2016, the Sole Survivor is able to upgrade their mechanical companions into a variety of different forms. MrAchilles' version of Codsworth is just one of several possibilities when it comes to improving the Mr. Handy.
It's worth noting that while it's certainly not necessary to completely overhaul Codsworth, it's highly recommended that players who want to keep the Mr. Handy by their side improve upon his systems. During the early hours of the game, the robot is an fantastic companion thanks in no small part to his deadly buzzsaw that deals an impressive amount of damage. Unfortunately, once stronger enemies begin to crop up, he's often outmatched, meaning some Automatron upgrades will go a long way to ensuring his long-term viability.
Fallout 4 players wanting to make Codsworth even more unique can also do with the help of community-created mods. Bethesda's beloved RPG is one of the most modded games on sharing hub Nexus Mods and thanks to the success of Prime Video's Fallout series, more and more add-ons are created every day. It seems almost like a given that someone would have created an entire model swap that would repace the polite Mr. Handy with an actual T-800...
