Genshin Impact: All Sethos Ascension Materials (& Talents)
In order to farm the materials for Sethos in Genshin Impact, it is best that you preemptively know where to look rather than wait until you have him in your roster to only then start searching for the required items. Sethos is a new 4-star character who hails from the region of Sumeru. The member of the Temple of Silence was introduced as an NPC in Cyno’s second Character Quest and, alongside Sigewinne and Clorinde, is one of the new playable characters in Genshin Impact 4.7. Sethos holds an Electro Vision and uses a bow in combat.
When it comes to his on-field performance, Sethos is at his best when used as a main DPS in team comps. The Electro archer is a specialist in dealing elemental damage through his Charged Attack, which has the ability of crossing opponents. Sethos relies heavily on Elemental Mastery and, depending on how high his currently Energy bar is, the faster he can charge his Charged Attacks. He can be a reliable DPS, especially for teams focused on Electro reactions, but before taking advantage of his skill set, you will need to farm the proper materials for Sethos in Genshin Impact.

Materials To Farm For Sethos’ Ascension In Genshin Impact
All Required Items Have Been Available For A While

The first set of materials you will need to farm for Sethos’ Ascension is the Vajrada Amethyst stones. These Ascension materials are dedicated exclusively to Electro characters. They can easily be farmed by defeating bosses that possess any sort of Electro abilities, such as the Electro Regisvine or the Millennial Pearl Seahorse. Weekly bosses in Genshin Impact like Childe, Stormterror, and Azhdaha also drop Vajrada Amethyst stones. Unfortunately, you cannot optimize your farming efforts with a specific boss, as the one that drops Sethos’ required world boss materials does not drop Vajrada Amethyst stones.
The table below lists all the materials needed for Sethos’ Ascension, divided by level thresholds and then summarized with the total amount required:

The boss material used by Sethos is Cloudseam Scale, which drops exclusively from the Solitary Suanni world boss in Liyue. The creature is the main boss from Chenyu Vale and, for reference, Cloudseam Scale is the same boss material used in Xianyun’s Ascension in Genshin Impact. Only 46 copies are needed, but given the limitations on Resin to farm, it may take a few days before you are able to muster up everything that is required.

In addition to those, Sethos’ Ascension also demands the usage of Faded Red Satin, Trimmed Red Silk, and Rich Red Brocade. These materials can be obtained from humanoid enemies from the Eremites faction, which are spread across the Sumeru region. These are fairly easy to obtain and not too many are needed for his Ascension, per si, but leveling Sethos’ abilities also requires them, so you will need to farm a surplus of these Eremite materials. You can also grab a few more every month from the Stardust Exchange shop.
Whenever you are using items with varying rarities, such as the Vajrada Amethyst stones of the Eremite materials, remember you can use the Alchemy Table in Genshin Impact to transform lower-grade items into rarer ones as the demands increase.
The final material you will need for Sethos’ Ascension, other than Mora to pay for the process itself, is Trishiraite. Trishiraite is a Local Specialty that can be found exclusively in the Gavireh Lajavard and Realm of Farakhkert zones in Sumeru. There are only 57 nodes of Trishiraite available in the game and Local Specialties only respawn every 48 hours. It is recommended that you use the interactive map on HoYoLAB to locate and grab all the Trishiraite you can in a single run, thus optimizing your farming results.

Materials For Sethos’ Talents (Abilities) In Genshin Impact
You Will Need To Farm Heavily For This Process
As was previously mentioned, some of the materials used in Sethos’ Talent-leveling process are Faded Red Satin, Trimmed Red Silk, and Rich Red Brocade. These items drop from Eremites and, compared to the amount needed in his Ascension process, the quantity here is much more significant, which means you will need to farm a lot. These are fairly simple to find, but you can locate all Eremite positions more easily by using HoYoLAB’s interactive map, too.
The table below lists all the materials needed to level up all of Sethos’ abilities to level 10 in Genshin Impact:
Sethos Talent Materials In Genshin Impact Teachings of Praxis 9x Guide to Praxis 63x Philosophies of Praxis 114x Faded Red Satin 18x Trimmed Red Silk 66x Rich Red Brocade 93x Daka's Bell 18x Crown of Insight 3x Mora 4,957,500x
The Talent books used by Sethos are those of the Praxis line. Teachings of Praxis, Guide to Praxis, and Philosophies of Praxis can all be farmed from the Steeple of Ignorance Domain in Sumeru, but only on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. At more advanced Talent levels, Sethos’ requirements will increase and you will need to start using Daka’s Bell, a weekly boss material dropped from Shouki no Kami in Sumeru. The final materials needed to top off Sethos’ Talents are Crowns of Insight, which can be obtained from limited-time events in Genshin Impact and Offering Systems.

A large sum of Mora is needed to fully upgrade Sethos and his skills, and leveling his Talents is the most expensive part of the process. If you are ever in dire need of Mora, you can farm the currency at Ley Line: Blossoms of Wealth all across Teyvat. It is not difficult to fully Ascend Sethos and level up his skills, but it can be a time-consuming process if you have to start from scratch. Nevertheless, knowing where to farm each material already gives you an advantage and, soon, you can start thinking about building Sethos in Genshin Impact.
