Shueisha has never been shy when experimenting with new features, campaigns, and events, which makes Manga Plus' latest feature quite unsurprising in that regard. MANGA Plus also recently experimented with launching an online forum and though that feature was not made permanent after the event ended, there is a high likelihood that this new ad feature could be here to stay.
MANGA Plus has marketed its newest feature as an opportunity for readers to directly support the livelihoods of the creators they love, including the editors and the staff behind bringing these series to life. The campaign acknowledges that it is the support of dedicated readers that makes it possible for creators to continue crafting new stories and presents this event as a chance to empower readers even further.
As manga continues to be globalized, apps like MANGA Plus which offer simultaneous releases and multiple translations will continue to grow in popularity. As such, limited-time events such as this one are an excellent chance for readers from around the world to express their gratitude and support in a small easy way with just a few taps on a screen, especially if it isn't possible to buy a physical copy of the manga they love.
