Summary Meri Brown is happier and smiling since leaving Kody, finding fulfillment in her business ventures.

Meri no longer spends holidays with the Browns, leaning on friends for support and not feeling lonely.

Meri's romantic prospects have been challenging, as she recently broke up with Amos Andrews and grieved the tragic death of Garrison Brown.

Since finally leaving Kody Brown, Sister Wives star Meri Brown has been happier than ever and can't stop smiling. Meri was Kody's first wife, and they were married for 32 years before finally deciding to call it quits. The couple had one child together, and Meri held on to the marriage long after she should have walked away. By the time she left Kody, he had been neglecting his first wife for many years. Adding insult to injury, Kody had openly admitted that he was no longer attracted to Meri and couldn't see a future with her.

Though Meri had religious reasons for wanting to live in polygamy, the neglect and humiliation were too much. In January 2023, the Sister Wives season 18 stars announced their split. The couple divorced in 2014, so Kody could legally marry his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, and adopt her three children from a past marriage. Despite the paperwork, Kody and Meri were still in a spiritual union until the dissolution of their relationship. Though Meri had desperately wanted the marriage to work, she had since moved on and is all smiles these days.

Meri Brown's Smile Is Beautiful In This Thanksgiving Post

She's Alone, Not Lonely

Since her separation from Kody, Meri no longer spends holidays with Kody and the Browns. In November 2023, Meri posted a carousel of photos on Instagram from her Thanksgiving holiday with friends. The caption under the posted photos reads, "What a wonderful and beautiful Thanksgiving week with friends!" In several photos, Meri is wearing a top in a flattering salmon shade and a trendy paperclip-style necklace in gold.

In the heavily filtered photos, she is beaming happily and looking healthy and fit. Though Meri is a single woman who lives alone, she doesn't have to live a lonely life. Considering Kody's blatant neglect of Meri, she was arguably much more lonely when she was still married to him.

After Kody's second and third wives, Christine Brown and Janelle Brown, left him in 2021 and 2022 respectively, the family was split in two.

On one side were Christine and Janelle, and on the other were Kody, Robyn, and Meri. This separated Meri from Christine and Janelle and left her alone once she split from Kody. With her only child all grown up and living far away, Meri leaned heavily on her loyal friends.

Meri has never been lucky in love. Though she and Kody were married for 32 years, it was a very lonely time for Meri. Her romantic prospects seemed to improve after she left Kody when she started dating a new man. Fans were hoping Meri's relationship with Amos Andrews would work out. Fellow sister wife Christine Brown had married David Woolley a few short years after leaving Kody, and hopes were high that Meri and Amos would go down a similar path.

Sadly, lightning didn't strike twice, and the relationship ended soon after it began.

In February, Meri announced her breakup on Instagram. The caption read, in part, "Last week, I had to face some hard truths and have some difficult conversations." Meri explained that though she and Amos cared about each other, their relationship wouldn't continue.

Finding herself single again, Meri's world was further shaken by news of the tragic death of Garrison Brown on March 5. 25-year-old Garrison was Kody's son with his second wife, Janelle. Meri had known Garrison his whole life, and he was like a son to her. Garrison's tragic death devastated the Brown family, including Meri. Hopefully, she will continue to find reasons to smile during these difficult times. Sister Wives season 19 will likely follow the Browns as they continue to grieve Garrison.

Sister Wives seasons 1-18 can be streamed on Discovery+.
