Fans eagerly await more information from Nintendo on upcoming games like a possible Twilight Princess remaster and the Dragon Quest III remake.
When it comes to the next iteration of the Nintendo Switch, rumors continue to swirl that the next iteration of the hybrid console will sport some of the community's most anticipated releases. When it comes to speculating on the nature of the next Switch, there's no shortage of reports claiming to know about the games currently in development for the platform or even the hardware that will sit within its shell. Nintendo has yet to confirm anything, but if the latest rumors are to believed, one leaker has a fairly decent idea of what fans can expect.
Per NintendoLife, leaker Midori, who has a proven track record as a relatively reliable source when it comes to Nintendo projects, shared the codenames of several allegedly in-development titles.
These include "Edward," a new Legend of Zelda game, "Anna," which is supposedly Nintendo Switch Sports and "SPRed," which is believed to be another 3D Super Mario game. It's worth noting that while Midori is regarded as a solid source, their report should still be taken with a grain of salt until Nintendo provides some kind of clarification on the games consumers can expect to see on the Switch 2.

Out of all the supposed codenames Midori leaked, the one that's arguably the most interesting is "SPRed" given that Super Mario Odyssey, a launch title for the original Switch that's still considered one of the console's best games was created under the name "RedStar."
The link could be coincidental but Nintendo has a history of using "Red" to refer to Super Mario games. Fans of the plumber will just have to wait and see whether Odyssey finally recieves a sequel that's up to the first title's exceptional standard.
Speaking on the Zelda game that's reportedly in development, Midori suggested that the title could be a remaster of Twilight Princess, the franchise classic that's held in high regards by the community. Rumors have spread for years that Nintendo was working on bringing the GameCube and WiiU game to the Switch but these have ultimately never panned out. It seems more likely than ever that such a project could exist as a means of providing a more cost-effective launch title for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 will only be announced within the next year, users are still looking toward the more immediate future regarding Nintendo's line-up of games. Midori stated that the long-awaited Dragon Quest III remake will drop this year and will play a key part in Nintendo's June Direct. Square Enix seemingly confirmed that this would be the case but no other announcements have yet been locked in place.
