1000-Lb Sisters: Amy Slaton Is More Bold Than Ever Since Extraordinary Weight Loss (Her Recent Activity Proves It)

Summary Amy from 1000-lb Sisters lost 125 pounds after weight loss surgery.

Amy enjoys soda and filters her photos heavily on social media.

Amy has been spending time outdoors with her boys, teaching them healthy habits.

1000-lb Sisters star Amy Slaton has lost an incredible amount of weight since the show premiered, and she looks like a different woman. Amy made her television debut in 2020 alongside her sister, Tammy Slaton. During the first episode of the first season, the Slaton sisters needed to weigh themselves, but a regular bathroom scale couldn't accommodate people their size. Amy and Tammy had to drive to the local junkyard to step on the industrial scale. Adding insult to injury, Amy stepped on that scale and learned she weighed over 400 pounds.

Though Amy knew she had gained weight, she hadn't realized how big she was. The 1000-lb Sisters season 5 star was especially devastated because she desperately wanted to have children, but she was too heavy to carry a healthy pregnancy to term. Amy decided to have weight-loss surgery, after which she shed a shocking 125 pounds and went on to have two healthy little boys. Since losing weight, Amy has never looked better.

Amy Looks Adorable In Casual Tank Top

She Loves Her "Sodie"

Amy and Tammy grew up loving soda, which they lovingly refer to as "sodie." In July, Amy posted a whimsical TikTok in which she's enjoying a Coca-Cola beverage with an unnamed friend, pretending that there's alcohol in the drink. In the clip, Amy has tied her blue hair back into a ponytail and is wearing a casual black tank top that highlights how much slimmer the 1000-lb Sisters star is since bariatric surgery.

The post has 5.9K likes, and Amy's caption reads, "When my bestie think im drinking."

During an episode of 1000-lb Sisters that aired early in season 1, Amy and Tammy explained that, when they were growing up, their mother told them that if they ate something sweet, they could cancel it out by drinking a diet soda. Untrue information about diet likely put the Slaton sisters on an unhealthy path early in life. Hopefully, these days, "sodie" is an occasional treat for Amy, as opposed to the daily consumption she used to engage in before weight-loss surgery.

Amy has been spending a lot more time outdoors lately, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air with her boys. In June, Amy's sister, Amanda Halterman, posted a TikTok of a fun day at the local park. In the clip, Amanda pushes little Glenn on a swing when Amy playfully sneaks up behind him, looking slimmer than ever. Since losing weight, Amy has never looked happier as she and her boys spend the summer in the great outdoors.

The post has 1556 likes, and Amanda's caption reads, “Im gonna miss this im gonna want this back. I already wish these days wouldnt go by so fast @Amy halterman growing to quick ”

Amanda has been living with Amy and her sons since getting unceremoniously dumped by her ex-boyfriend, RJ. She had been living with RJ in Florida until he ghosted her in May. She headed back to Kentucky and moved in with her younger sister, where she has been ever since. Since Amy and her husband, Michael Halterman, divorced in 2023, she has been a single mom and seems to love having her helpful sister around.

Instilling Healthy Habits

In June, Amanda posted another TikTok of Amy and the boys at the park. In the clip, Amy and the boys play on the slides as Amanda films the fun. Before losing weight, Amy spent most of her time indoors, but since slimming down, Amy has become an outdoors person. It's great that she is teaching her little boys to be active and instilling healthy habits at a young age.

Amanda's post has 982 likes, and her caption reads, "@Amy halterman we love going to the park!!"

Like Amy, Amanda has gone on her incredible weight-loss journey. Amanda had bariatric surgery in 2014, long before appearing on 1000-lb Sisters, but she eventually put the weight back on. In March 2023, Amanda had her second weight-loss surgery, and over a year later, she is making incredible progress and has never looked thinner.

She Loves Her Photo Filters

In April, Amy posted a gorgeous photo of herself on TikTok. The photo is of Amy at a park, where she has been spending a lot of time this summer with her two sons, Gage and Glenn Halterman. Though the photo is heavily filtered, it's still a flattering picture of Amy, and it's understandable why she'd want to post it.

Amy's post has 3.5K likes, and is set to the Kenny Chesney song, "Life Is Good."

Amy is very trigger-happy when it comes to photo filters, which she uses very generously. She is often criticized for her overuse of filters, and this post was no exception, as the comment section is full of 1000-lb Sisters fans begging Amy to lay off the filters. "Quit … the filter," wrote one fan, adding, "you’re beautiful …love your true self!!!?"
