Chozen unceremoniously disappeared from Cobra Kai in season 6—is he gone for good, or will he return in the next installment of episodes? Though he was originally a villain in the Karate Kid Part 2 movie, Chozen became a fast fan favorite when he entered the fray in Cobra Kai. Not only is his dynamic with Daniel nostalgic, ironic, and comedic, but Chozen is a kick-ass fighter who has brought several great moments to the series. His character arc took a massive step forward in the finale of Cobra Kai season 5, but he seems to have fallen off the map in the first part of season 6.
At the end of Cobra Kai season 5, Chozen faced off with Terry Silver in an epic battle—katana vs. sai. It was easily the coolest fight of the series, and though Chozen was left horribly wounded in the end, it elevated him to a new level of fan adoration. His confession of love over Kumiko's voicemail only solidified this, and Chozen has become a significant point of interest going into Cobra Kai season 6. He has among the more intriguing storylines to wrap up in the Netflix series' final season, but that will be hard to do if he has left the show.

Chozen Went Back To Okinawa, But Will He Return?
Chozen Disappeared In Cobra Kai Season 6
In Cobra Kai season 6, episode 3, "Sleeper," Chozen witnesses a heart-to-heart between Daniel and Amanda LaRusso. The karate kid's wife mentioned the importance of spending time with the people they love while they are there, and this resonated with Chozen. Up to that point, he had been determined to stay in the Valley with the LaRussos since Kumiko never responded to his confession of love. However, Amanda's words inspired Chozen to get out his phone and look up flights to Okinawa—and that's the last he is seen in Cobra Kai season 6, part 1.
Since only five episodes were released for the first part of Cobra Kai season 6, there were only two episodes in which Chozen was absent. Still, this was a pretty abrupt change. No one even acknowledged that he had left or discussed whether he would return. Given the excitement of the Sekai Taikai tournament, this is especially strange. Chozen was determined to see the students of Miyagi-Do through, but he unceremoniously left instead. Still, given how much of Chozen's Cobra Kai story was left unresolved, it can be hoped that he will return.
Cobra Kai season 6, part 2, releases on Netflix on November 25, 2024.
Chozen's Story Isn't Over
Cobra Kai Can't Just Leave Chozen's Story Like That
While it's easy enough to imagine that he traveled home to Japan and lived happily ever after, there is simply too much left unsaid here.
Amanda's words imply that Chozen went back to Okinawa to spend time with those he loves, including Kumiko. While it's easy enough to imagine that he traveled home to Japan and lived happily ever after, there is simply too much left unsaid here. Audiences will be eager to know whether Kumiko loves Chozen back. Additionally, after such a cool battle with Silver in season 5, Chozen simply vanishing three episodes into season 6 just wouldn't be fair. There is undoubtedly more to explore with this character, so Chozen is all but guaranteed to return in Cobra Kai season 6's second or third part.
