Incredible Resident Evil Leon Cosplay Fools Fans Into Thinking He's The Real Deal

Summary Leon S. Kennedy's iconic outfit shines in this realistic cosplay, embodying his evolution from rookie to top agent.

The attention to detail in the cosplay, from his outfit to his hair, led some to mistake it for official marketing material.

Leon's popularity as a character in Resident Evil is evident, with fans praising his cool demeanor and compelling character arc.

When it comes to Resident Evil, there isn't a character as cool and calm under pressure as Leon S. Kennedy, a trait that's brilliantly displayed in this excellent cosplay. While he may have been a greenhorn police officer in Resident Evil 2, by the time the fourth game rolls around he's graduated to being one of the best spies in the United States, even functioning as the President's go-to solution to rescue his kidnapped daughter. It may seem like a jarring transition but once players see Leon in action, they'll quickly understand why he's such an asset.

The outfit consists of the navy blue shirt and shoulder holster that's become synonymous with Leon's look in Resident Evil 4 and coupled together with the iconic middle-parted blonde hair, it's no wonder some commentators briefly believed it to be an official piece of marketing. Several users even joked the clip was so authentic that it exceeded the realm the cosplay, suggesting that Leon S. Kennedy himself exists in real life.

Why Is Leon S. Kennedy So Popular?

He's Definitely Resident Evil's Star

Close

Resident Evil may boast an expansive cast of characters from all walks of life but Leon S. Kennedy is easily the most popular. While that may be due to the fact that he's starred in the two most beloved Resident Evil games, those being 2 and 4, many players have come to view him as a reluctant hero who's been forced to step up to the plate to make the world a better place. He may have initially had noble aspirations as a rookie police officer in Raccoon City, but his handling of the Umbralla Outbreak was enough to have him promoted several dozen times over.

There's also something undeniably cool about Leon; from his leather jacket to his snarky quips, the special agent is always aloof no matter the situation. Even after he's been infected by the Las Plagas, a detail that's visible in Initial_Cellist_3406's cosplay, he still retains his head and manages to make it through the situation with a little help from his allies. From the bumbling kid in Resident Evil 2 to the stone-cold killer in Resident Evil 4, it's undoubtedly a compelling character arc.

Whether Leon returns in a future Resident Evil game remains to be seen but given his popularity, it's unlikely that Capcom doesn't have any future plans for him. Ethan Winters may have been the star of Resident Evil 7 and Village but since that saga has finally come to a close, it could be time for Leon to check in. Chris Redfield has had too much time in the spotlight, it's time he moved over and let the real action hero have the stage.
