Warning! MAJOR spoilers ahead for The Boys season 4 finale.
The Boys star Antony Starr addresses the season 4 finale's mid-credit cameo and its possible effect on Homelander. The Boys season 4 came to an end this week on Prime Video, with the finale delivering a handful of shocking reveals and character deaths. Homelander essentially moves into a position to assert his power at the highest levels of government, but one of the most surprising moments for the character came during the finale's mid-credits scene, when he's brought face-to-face with Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles), who remains in an unconscious state.
In a recent interview with TVLine, Starr comments on Soldier Boy's return in The Boys' season 4 finale. The actor touches on his Homelander's state of mind during that big moment, revealing that he's not sure how the dynamic between the two characters will play out in season 5. Check out his comment below:
“I didn’t want to answer that question, because I don’t think the character knows. I think it’s such a loaded moment. You know those moments in life where you know something very intense is happening, but you can’t process things in the moment? We don’t work like that. I wanted that moment to be he knows what he’s coming in to see. He’s coming into the room, he knows what’s there. But then the reality of seeing his father, the father who wanted to kill him… It’s such a conflicted moment. “Personally, I didn’t want to take it further than, ‘Wow, what does that mean?' It is loaded. It’s very full, but as to what it means, I don’t know. I still don’t know. Antony doesn’t know what that meant for the character, because I don’t think the character should know.”
More to come...
