This Sweet Stardew Valley Mod Is Perfect For Everyone Waiting For Haunted Chocolatier

Summary The "Chocolate Valley" mod adds a chocolate-making system to Stardew Valley, satisfying cravings for sweet treats.

New chocolate recipes offer powerful buffs to enhance gameplay, making the wait for Haunted Chocolatier more palatable.

While players eagerly await Haunted Chocolatier news, the "Chocolate Valley" mod provides a rewarding chocolate-making experience.

Those Stardew Valley fans who are patiently waiting for more news on ConcernedApe's Haunted Chocolatier will be pleased to know that they can satisfy their sweet tooth thanks to this excellent new mod. Given the variety of crops Farmers can stumble upon in Pelican Town, it's certainly odd that Cocoa beans aren't available in the base version of Stardew Valley. Players can make chocolate cake but when it comes to brewing up sweet bars of candy, options are practically non-existent which may disappoint those hoping to create a chocolate empire.

Fortunately, that's about to change thanks to orangeblossom's excellent "Chocolate Valley" mod over on Nexus Mods which adds an entire chocolate-making system into Stardew Valley. The add-on features two new plants, five artisan machines, several ingredients, and a variety of chocolate recipes for players to craft with their new crop of beans. Better yet, each of the chocolate recipes comes with special buffs that the creator admits can be overpowered but all-in-all, this just makes the game a little more, especially for those who want to pack a treat for their next expedition down the mines.

Some of the new chocolate recipes included in "Chocolate Valley" are both decadent treats and powerful tools to enhance certain aspects of Stardew Valley. The most obviously powerful inclusions are undoubtedly the "Hot Chocolate" variants, all of which grant the user +50 max energy and +1 to their speed, and the White and Milk Chocolate Heart which grant +2 Farming, +2 Foraging, and +10 Magnetic Radius. Each of these will last four minutes in real life, so players will need to pack a few to get through the tougher sections of Skull Cavern.

Making chocolate in Stardew Valley may be fun but many players may see it as an opportunity to satisfy their craving for Haunted Chocolatier. Announced back in 2021, ConcernedApe has yet to reveal much about his official follow-up to the beloved farming RPG so fans are eagerly awaiting some kind of update on its progress. Given the fact that the developer is still working on updates for Stardew Valley, Haunted Chocolatier could be in the oven for a while longer.

The Chocolate Valley mod for Stardew Valley may not provide the spooky confectionary experience so many fans are looking for but it should at least make the wait slightly more palatable. The ability to grow Cocoa beans and turn them into chocolate should be a rewarding process made even better by the fact that every villager loves them as a gift. Haunted Chocolatier may be on the way, but "Chocolate Valley" will certainly do for now.
