Harmony reigns at the beginning of the latest season of Netflix’s hit Karate Kid sequel series, as the students of Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang bask in their victory over Terry Silver, and prepare for a new challenge in the Sekai Taikai tournament. But that harmony is shattered when, in a big Cobra Kai season 6 twist, Tory leaves Miyagi-do and her boyfriend Robby to reunite with her old sensei Kreese.

Tory’s decision will have huge implications for Cobra Kai season 6 going forward, and Robby actor Buchanan discussed some of them in a recent interview, talking specifically about how his character will be affected as his girlfriend flips to the enemy dojo, at the same time that he is being asked to take on a leadership role within Miyagi-do. Well, that is the whole thing. I think he's torn up because he doesn't know which way is the right way at this point. I think he knew in his mind what he thought what the right way was, and he had this pact with Tory of, “We're gonna make this happen.” Going into it, he doesn't have that pact anymore, and it's kind of thrown him off his groove. When he gets thrown off his groove, because he's so emotional, he doesn't really know how to get back on it. We'll have to see where that kind of ends him up, but it doesn't look great for him right now.

Will Robby Follow Tory Back To Kreese?

Robby and Tory initially became a couple as they bonded over their troubled upbringings, and Robby was later able to show Tory that the ways of Cobra Kai were wrong, convincing her to join him in the greener pastures of Miyagi-do karate. But Tory’s decision to go back to Kreese, following the death of her mother, leaves their relationship at a crossroads.

Tory has her own reasons for seeking a reunion with Kreese, who has returned and is back in charge after Terry Silver’s ouster and arrest, but what of Robby now that his girlfriend has broken their pact and left Miyagi-do? Buchanan’s comments hint that Robby will experience a lot of turmoil over this sudden and jarring change. Given Robby’s emotional nature, will the loss of Tory be too much for him to handle?

Cobra Kai season 6 has 15 episodes split into three parts

Robby has a lot on his plate, with the big Sekai Taikai tournament coming up, and his assignment as a team captain. Perhaps Robby will show the resiliency necessary to step up and be a leader for Miyagi-do, even as his relationship with Tory is being tested. There’s a possibility, however, that Robby will value Tory over his obligations to Miyagi-do, and follow his girlfriend back to the side of Kreese. Things are set up to become dramatic when Cobra Kai season 6, part 2 arrives on Netflix on November 15.
