Instagram post features love triangle drama between Husk, Jubilee, and Chamber.

The teenage X-Men team, Generation X, has returned in a stunning cosplay shared on Instagram. This group cosplay calls back to the mutant heroes' debut era within the '90s. The team was short-lived, though each member has gone on to play a role in the broader X-Men and its assorted offshoots and special squads.

On Instagram, @saramonicosplay and @warpath_dylan shared different shots of their Generation X group cosplay. Members of this Generation X team include Synch, Mondo, Gaia, Jubilee, Banshee, Monet, Emma Frost, Husk, and Chamber. While the majority of them were seen recently within the X-Men's Krakoan era, Gaia was not and is a standout worth noting.

Though less popular than the primary X-Men team, Generation X was a solid introduction to characters who would later join the primary team. This is particularly true since the team's main purpose was to learn instead of doing the usual fieldwork Marvel's mutants are best known for.

Generation X Featured Several Key X-Men Members

@warpath_dylan shared a closer look at Husk, Jubilee, and Chamber, showcasing a cosplay love triangle considering Husk dated Jubilee and had major tension with Chamber following Jubilee's death. Generation X was a relatively shortlived team, lasting from 1994 to 2001 and spanning seventy-five issues for its first iteration following its start in Uncanny X-Men #317. The team later made a brief return in 2017 with a twelve-issue series. During the Age of Apocalypse, the team briefly went by the name Generation Next, but is still best known as Generation X and is one of the most underrated iterations of the X-Men's assorted teams.

The '90s had some of the X-Men's key storylines and teams, including the return of the original X-Men, the Age of Apocalypse storyline, the introduction of Deadpool, and many other highlights.

Generation X Cosplay is the Perfect X-Men Throwback

The '90s had some of the X-Men's key storylines and teams, including the return of the original X-Men, the Age of Apocalypse storyline, the introduction of Deadpool, and many other highlights. Generation X isn't the biggest mutant team to come out of the timeframe, but it is certainly one of the most underrated. Seeing the group reunite in this group cosplay for Wondercon is wonderful, throwing back to some of the team members' earliest days as heroes. This includes Jubilee, who would become an X-Men: The Animated Series and X-Men '97 fan-favorite heroine. This Generation X cosplay comeback is a noteworthy highlight for X-Men cosplays in 2024.
