Big changes are coming to the DC Universe this October. As part of DC All In, Action Comics is getting a new creative team and a new backup story starring Supergirl. Mariko Tamaki and Skylar Patridge return to the character as Action Comics becomes a weekly title throughout October.

The backups of Action Comics #1070-1073 will focus on Kara Zor-El as she heads out into space to take down a threat only she can deal with. But between facing the United Planets and an assassin, Supergirl is going to have a lot to handle during her journey through the cosmos.
Supergirl is Headed to Space for a Brand-New Adventure
One of the oldest members of the Super-Family, Supergirl returned to Metropolis in Action Comics, where she assisted her family as they faced unexpected threats like the return of Cyborg Superman and the terrors of "Beast World". Though Kara was happy to be with her loved ones, she felt redundant among the Super-Family, especially once her Earth-2 doppelganger Power Girl came back. Supergirl Special #1 saw Kara open up to Lois Lane about her insecurities and fears about not being enough. However, after a heart-to-heart with Power Girl, Supergirl began to work through her issues.
Other than her special one-shot last year, Supergirl hasn't gotten any solo focus recently. However, with a feature film starring Kara on the horizon, now's the perfect time to put the spotlight back on Supergirl. The creators involved with the books that are a part of DC All In have pushed the idea that these upcoming stories are designed as jumping-on points. Sadly, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is still quite a bit away from hitting theaters. But Supergirl fans who want to catch up will have the best opportunity to do so with this upcoming adventure.
Supergirl's New Adventure is Perfect for New and Returning Fans
Whether someone's behind or has never read a Supergirl story in their life, this backup story should have everything they need. After all, nothing embodies Kara better than a gripping adventure through the cosmos. DC All In has promised big things for the DC Universe's heroes and with a movie just a few years away, Supergirl's future is brighter than ever. But before the DCU officially welcomes Superman's iconic cousin, fans will have the perfect opportunity to see what Supergirl's all about in this promising backup.
Action Comics #1070 is available on October 9th from DC Comics.
