Genshin Impact Natlan Leaks: World Level Increase & AR Level To Unlock It, Explained

Genshin Impact Natlan Leaks: World Level Increase & AR Level To Unlock It, Explained

Summary New leaks mention that after Natlan's debut in Genshin Impact, there may be an increase to the world level.

The leaked world level increase will come with an AR (Adventure Rank) level prerequisite, which is fairly high.

The rumored world level increase would also boost enemy levels and potentially tweak drop rates for certain encounters.

As seen in new leaks about Natlan in Genshin Impact, the game’s world level will increase one more time, and players will need to reach a specific AR (Adventure Rank) level to unlock it and take advantage of its benefits. World levels in the action RPG by HoYoverse dictate the level of enemies that players face and the quality of the loot they obtain in certain encounters. If the leak is true and a new world level is introduced after the release of Natlan in Genshin Impact, players will be looking at the toughest version of opponents across most activities.

Generally, the higher the world level, the harder the fights players will partake in. While the increase in the world level comes with increased challenges, it does offer players a chance to get guaranteed 5-star loot from certain battles. At world level 7, for instance, players get two guaranteed 5-star Character Level-Up Materials from weekly bosses when they are challenged at the highest Domain level. At world level 8, normal bosses drop a guaranteed 5-star Artifact. There are benefits to increasing the world level and if the new Natlan leaks in Genshin Impact are true, more bonuses may be underway.

Leaked World Level 9 In Genshin Impact May Require AR 58

According to a new piece of information by Plum Team Leaks, which was then shared in a post tagged as “Questionable” on Reddit, the world level will be increased to level 9 after Version 5.0. Based on the wording used in the posted leak, it is uncertain if the new world level will be implemented after the patch arrives or in a future update that is to be added after the conclusion of Version 5.0. As seen in the leak, players will allegedly need to be AR 58 to unlock the rumored world level 9 in Genshin Impact.

What The Leaked World Level 9 Could Mean In Genshin Impact

The New World Level May Improve Drop Rates

If the leak provided by Plum Team is true, the rumored new world level 9 could impact how players tackle the game. The first immediate change would likely be to the level of enemies. So far, every world level increase has also seen an increase in the enemy levels. Currently, at world level 8, the enemy level range is between 76 and 98. The rumored world level 9 could see enemy levels pushed into and possibly beyond level 100. World boss levels in Genshin Impact could also be pushed from 93 / 94 to 95 / 96 or even further.

In addition to the possible increase in the levels of enemy encounters that would come with this rumored world level 9, there would likely also be benefits to how players obtain their loot. While unspecified by the leak, the increase in world level could potentially result in an increase in the drop rates for Artifacts or boss materials. One of the biggest issues with farming in the game right now is the lack of certainty regarding the number of boss materials per challenge. By defeating one boss, players can get two or three copies of the item in Genshin Impact.

Related Genshin Impact Natlan Leaks: Chasca's Release Date Gets Promising New Update The release of Chasca as a playable character in Genshin Impact’s Natlan region has allegedly been leaked, and players may not have to wait too long.

Compared to the sheer amount needed for a complete character Ascension, players need to defeat the same boss too many times, aided by the uncertainty of whether they will drop two or three copies of that item each run. The rumored world level 9 could improve this by increasing the potential amount of materials dropped per encounter, for instance. It could even increase the drops to a fixed rate, like five boss items per boss challenge, as is the case in Honkai: Star Rail, another of HoYoverse’s RPGs.

In the comment section of the Reddit post, the user AWeirdMartian mentions they made a calculation based on the number of boss materials dropped in the action RPG and compared it to Honkai: Star Rail. In the turn-based RPG, as shown by them, it takes a fixed 39 hours of in-game energy to farm all the boss materials for a 5-star character. In comparison, it takes players between 97 and 122 hours to farm all boss materials for a 5-star character in Genshin Impact, mainly due to the combined issues with unstable drop rates and the slow Resin regeneration rate.

Related Genshin Impact 4.7's Resin Increase Doesn't Solve the Game's Biggest Problem Genshin Impact's resin cap change feels like major progress, but it's actually a symptom of its biggest problem instead.

The increased energy regeneration and the fixed drop of five boss materials per challenge in Honkai: Star Rail make it a much less punitive game when it comes to farming, and that could easily be applied to HoYoverse’s action RPG with the rumored world level 9 if the leak by Plum Team is proven to be true. Most of the benefits of unlocking new world levels revolve around farming, and the developer has a great opportunity to significantly improve the current status of the game by tweaking farming in Genshin Impact where it is the most problematic.

It is unlikely that the regeneration rate of Resin will be addressed via a new world level. Instead, the rumored addition would likely only increase drop rates.

There is, unfortunately, also a chance that the rumored new world level 9 update comes without any bonuses to players, maintaining itself only with the increased enemy encounter levels. If the leak is true, this is the only guaranteed update that would happen, and it is likely a means of leveling the playing field for players who have gone over the top building their characters and team comps and are now lacking challenges in the overworld. With increased levels, the enemies may once again pose challenges to these extremely well-built characters in Genshin Impact.

Of course, for now, these leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, as a lot of the information may be incorrect, subject to change, or simply postponed. There are still a lot of blurry details about Natlan and its upcoming contents as the game has just entered Version 4.8. New leaks about Version 5.0 are emerging now that the beta tests for the patch have started, following HoYoverse’s reveal of the roster of Natlan characters in Genshin Impact, which was met with criticism by the community with demands for more diversity and representation in the playable character designs.
