Fans of the One Chicago universe spinoff series Chicago P.D. will know Flueger as Officer Adam Ruzek, a young, over-eager police officer recruited right out of the academy. Adam is more than willing to dive headfirst into his undercover work for the Chicago department, often getting into trouble. Flueger has been on Chicago P.D. since the pilot, and his real-life girlfriend has found her way on the show as well.

Amara is an Arab American actress and model who was born on September 25, 1995, in the United Arab Emirates, though she holds citizenship from Jordan (via Amomama). She and her family moved around before finally settling in the United States, where Amara began her modeling career. In 2019, Amara moved to Los Angeles where she got her first major acting role as the starring character, Elaina, in the short film, Modulation Nowhere. While Adam Ruzek has an on-screen relationship with Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) in Chicago P.D., his real-life flame, Reem Amara, appears in a brief cameo in season 7, episode 14, "Center Mass". In the episode, she plays an unnamed ICU nurse who goes up to Vanessa Rojas (Lisseth Chavez) and asks about a patient, Sammy Logan. It's not much, a true blink-and-you'll-miss-it cameo, but Amara does very well with the little screen time she has, seeming at home in the hospital.

She appears just long enough for those in the know to recognize her and then she scoots off. It's a good résumé builder for Amara, whose acting career has mostly consisted of small roles in shorts and lesser-known TV shows. Patrick John Flueger was very proud of his girlfriend's performance, short or not. On his Instagram, he posted a shot of Amara from the episode with a caption that shamelessly espouses his romantic feelings for her. It's not exactly clear when Reem Amara and Patrick John Flueger began officially dating, but Flueger posted a photo of Amara on his Instagram on April 22, 2019.

A couple of months later, he posted a series of photos of himself and Amara posing for a photo shoot at the Garden Party of The Art Institute of Chicago on July 28, 2019, and the couple are clearly in a relationship, posing intimately and kissing.

Since then, the couple have frequently posted about one another. Usually, they're pictures of exciting international trips. Amara shared a photo on her Instagram of Flueger in Italy in June 2022.

A year later, the couple went to England to see Stonehenge. From the post, it's not clear if Flueger is more excited about being with his girlfriend or achieving his childhood dream of visiting the Neolithic structure.

Flueger's May 25, 2024, Instagram post was a video of him, Amara, and their dog enjoying the sounds of a stream.

From the looks of Flueger and Amara's social media, their relationship seems as strong as ever.
