Sims 4 Player Discovers Romance Option By Risking Their Sim's Life

Sims 4 Player Discovers Romance Option By Risking Their Sim's Life

Summary Romance in The Sims 4 can be risky, especially when dealing with options like the Frenzied Kiss for Enraged Sims.

Choosing options that increase anger can have serious consequences, potentially leading to a Sim's death.

The upcoming Lovestruck expansion will introduce new romance features, but the default system still surprises players.

Romance is one of the most exciting parts of The Sims 4, but when things get too heated, plunging forward can incur some real risks. Although The Sims is principally a casual life simulation game, that doesn't mean that managing the lives of Sims is always simple or safe. Complex needs and demands can easily land Sims in hot water, but some of the consequences can go unseen for years by anyone who tends to avoid letting things go too far.

A Reddit post from The Sims 4 player blackmoonbluemoon documents their first encounter with the "Frenzied Kiss" option, a romance feature that only becomes available when a Sim is Enraged. In this case, the Sim in question is upset after an incident of infidelity, making the charged nature of the choice understandable.

The charged nature of a Frenzied Kiss is a far cry from most of the game's more typical romance options, with others like "Embrace" and "Kiss Cheek" featured in the same screenshot showing the extreme difference. Being Enraged can be dangerous for a Sim, so as steamy as going down this path might seem, it's not one for the faint of heart.

Sims 4 Romance Can Be Surprisingly Dangerous

Being Enraged Is A Big Deal

Committing to options that open up to Enraged Sims tends to only increase their anger, although there's no universal rule on the subject. Anything that seems like it would make things worse usually will, regardless, and pushing things too far can actually result in a Sim's death in the form of a Cardiac Explosion. The best way to avoid this is usually just to back off and have a Sim do something that won't increase their rage, but living life on the edge certainly has its appeal.

The Sims 4 is set to add a lot of new romance options in the Lovestruck expansion, but like all add-ons to the games, indulging in the new features will come at a monetary cost. For anyone who isn't yet sold on Lovestruck, it's nice to see how the default romance system is still capable of surprising players today. It may not be as robust as it could be in some regards, but a Frenzied Kiss is a fun inclusion that helps showcase the game's personality.

When Lovestruck releases, The Sims 4's community will certainly waste no time making new romance discoveries in-game, and the addition of concepts like Turn-Ons and Turn-Offs should make for some memorable interactions. Whether any will be as risky as the Frenzied Kiss, however, remains to be seen. Dying from a build-up of rage is quite the way to go, and deciding to take the most dangerous options can be a great way to shake up The Sims 4 nearly a decade after its release.
