Tell Me Lies Season 2 Release Date Revealed, First Images Show First Look At Tom Ellis & Returning Cast

In addition to the premiere date, Hulu has unveiled the first images from the show, highlighting new and returning stars, including Lucifer's Tom Ellis as a tough professor.

Viewers can expect a more intense storyline in season 2, as showrunner Meaghan Oppenheimer previously described it as "more of a war story than a love story."

The release date and first images for Hulu drama Tell Me Lies have been revealed. Based on Carola Lovering’s 2018 novel of the same name, the show follows the complicated and intoxicating relationship of Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco, the show's leading protagonists, as it unfolds over the course of eight years. Following the show’s premiere in 2022, it was met with generally positive reviews, with Hulu announcing a renewal for Tell Me Lies season 2 just two months after its premiere.

Now, almost two years since the show originally aired, People has confirmed that Tell Me Lies season 2 will premiere with its first two episodes on Hulu on Wednesday, Sept. 4. The new season’s release date was accompanied by exclusive first images of said season.

One of the photos features Tom Ellis, the Lucifer star who is expected to step into the role of Oliver, a tough and unpopular professor at Baird College. Other images feature the show’s returning cast, including Grace Van Patten as Lucy, among others.

What To Expect From Tell Me Lies Season 2

Fans of the fledgling romantic drama have had to be patient for the continuation of Lucy and Stephen’s tumultuous relationship, especially seeing as the ending of Tell Me Lies season 1 left most viewers eager and wanting more. Even though Tell Me Lies was renewed for season 2 in November 2022, just two months after season 1 premiered, the new season’s production was plagued with different setbacks, including the Hollywood strikes in 2023 which brought the industry to a halt.

Now that the date for the new season has been confirmed, it is expected that most of the major cast who featured in season 1 will also return for season 2. This includes Grace Van Patten as Lucy, Catherine Missal as Bree, Sonia Mena as Pippa, as well as Jackson White, who will return as Stephen. Along with the aforementioned Tom Ellis, another new addition to the show is Thomas Doherty, who is expected to play a character named Leo.

With the new season set for release on September 4, fans of the fiery drama won’t have to wait too much longer before they see some of their favorite stars on screen once more.
