9 Crew Members Who Should Return To Below Deck Sailing Yacht (They Make The Show Entertaining)

Summary Alumni like Paget, Colin, and Chase should return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht to revive the show after Gary's misconduct allegations.

Daisy stood out as one of the best Chief Stews, focusing on her job and leading her interior crew successfully in multiple seasons.

Consider hiring talent like Lucy and Mads to bring positive vibes and fresh energy back to Below Deck Sailing Yacht.

While the fate of Below Deck Sailing Yacht is uncertain after Gary King was accused of sexual misconduct, the franchise should tap a few alumni to revive the show. The mainstay yachting series, Below Deck, has birthed five spin-offs since its 2013 release, including Below Deck Sailing Yacht. The sailing show aired its first season in 2020 with Captain Glenn Shephard leading a crew of yachties. Below Deck Sailing Yacht was a natural expansion in the Below Deck franchise after Below Deck Mediterranean, and the audience once again fell in love with the show.

With four seasons under its belt, Below Deck Sailing Yacht has built its presence within the franchise. Crew members like Gary and Chief Stew Daisy Kelliher appeared in multiple seasons of the showing, becoming series regulars. However, the allegations about the longtime First Officer threaten the future of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. Fans disapproved of Gary’s inclusion within the cast before the allegations came out, citing he was problematic and creepy toward women on Below Deck Sailing Yacht. To improve the show, he should be fired and a few Below Deck Sailing Yacht alumni should return.

Paget Berry appeared in the pilot season of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. He was Captain Glenn’s First Officer before Gary took over the role in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. Paget’s narrative on the show centered around his flirtatious personality despite working alongside his then-girlfriend, Ciara Duggan. He flirted with Third Stew Georgia Grobler and was unhappy with his portrayal on the show. Paget stirred up drama and said he’d never return to Below Deck because of how he was edited on the show. Nonetheless, if he’s still single, he should continue returning as a single First Officer.

8 Colin MacRae

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2-4

Close

Colin MacRae joined the crew of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2 and has been on the show ever since. For the majority of his time on the show, he was in a long-term relationship and stayed out of the drama. However, he was single and at the forefront of a messy love triangle in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 with Gary and Daisy. Colin had a friendly connection with the Chief Stew and the two entered a boatmance that Gary tried to sabotage. Despite some drama in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, Colin has been a reliable crew member and should return to the show in the future.

7 Chase Lemacks

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Close

Chase made his introduction into the Below Deck franchise as a deckhand in Sailing Yacht season 4. He worked under Gary’s guidance and called out his faults as a leader. Chase feuded with his First Officer when Gary pursued Mads Herrera after he expressed an interest in the stew. Nonetheless, he didn’t stir up excessive drama and enjoyed the ins and outs of being a deckhand. Like most of his Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 co-stars, Chase would likely return to the show. He was an unproblematic crew member that would bring his positive vibes back to the show.

6 Dani Soares

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2

Close

Dani Soares worked a stew during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. During her time on the show, she formed a boatmance with deckhand Jean-Luc Cerza Lanaux. Their time on the show blossomed into Dani getting pregnant and having Jean-Luc’s baby. Because of her pregnancy, the stew didn’t return for season 3 to focus on her newfound motherhood. Dani recently graduated from nursing school and has left her yachting career in the past. However, it would be shocking if she decided to return to the show, but the audience would welcome her with open arms.

5 Lucy Edmunds

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Close

Lucy Edmunds was one of Daisy’s stews in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. She didn’t have any experience in the Below Deck franchise, but that didn’t stop her from becoming a beloved crew member on the show. Lucy was an incredible stew and her only fault during the season was her infamous back injury. After the crew went out one night, she fell from her bunk and hit something when she fell. Lucy received two parallel slashes on her back that have since healed.

Lucy worked and played hard in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. While she suffered a back injury after drinking one night, she didn’t drink excessively on the show. Lucy had fun during her time on the reality show and won the audience over in her confessional interviews with her witty sense of humor. She made light of her not-so-glamorous job as a stew with hilarious remarks. Lucy said she would love to return to Below Deck Sailing Yacht and work her way up to become a second stew, which would be great to see.

4 Alex Propson

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Close

Alex Propson’s career hasn’t slowed down since he joined the crew of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. There were many boatmances in his original season, and while he had a flirtatious connection with Mads, he didn’t leave the show in a relationship. Alex worked as a deckhand alongside Chase under Gary’s guidance, which wasn’t always smooth sailing. He impressed the Bravo network enough for them to invite him to appear in Winter House season 3. Alex has grown a presence within the Bravoverse which ensures he’ll be back on Below Deck Sailing Yacht in no time.

3 Marcos Spaziani

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 3

Close

Chef Marcos Spaziani impressed the crew and charter guests in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3. He joined the yachting show as a seasoned chef with a lot of experience. Notably, the crew of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 3 got along exceptionally well, and most of the cast have stayed friends to this day. After the show, Chef Marcos opened his restaurant, Lou'Mar by ML Eats. He doesn’t need the show to continue getting booked as a chef, but his presence on Below Deck Sailing Yacht would improve any season he joined.

2 Mads Herrera

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 4

Close

Mads Herrera was the breakout star of Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4. She had an adventurous personality that the entire crew took a liking to. Mads raised the energy of Below Deck Sailing Yacht, adding a fresh feel to the show. While she was only a third stew, she didn’t mind working as a lower-ranking employee under Daisy’s leadership. She had a boatmance with Gary before she knew he hooked up with the Chief Stew. However, she admittedly didn’t want a relationship with the First Officer.

Gary tried to say Mads lied about his feelings for her, but she was very clear about their relationship simply being a hook-up. She flirted with deckhand Alex during Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4 and admitted after the show she didn’t know he had a crush on her. When Mads found out her Chief Stew and Gary had hooked up, she admitted she wouldn’t have pursued the First Officer if she had known. The third stew was a breath of fresh air in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, and the show would be silly if they didn’t invite her back for another season.

1 Daisy Kelliher

Below Deck Sailing Yacht Season 2-4

Close

Daisy is one of the best Below Deck Chief Stews ever. She made her franchise debut in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 2. For the majority of her time on the show, Daisy stayed out of the drama. Instead of pursuing boatmances, she focused on her job as Chief Stew. Her leadership methods proved successful, and she led her interior crew to success in three seasons of Below Deck Sailing Yacht. However, during her most recent stint with the show in season 4, she had a love triangle with Gary and Colin.

At some point before Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 4, the Chief Stew and First Officer hooked up. They kept their past private until Daisy and Colin formed a boatmance. Gary attempted to derail their connection by revealing their past together. For the first time since she joined the show in season 2, Daisy’s performance as Chief Stew faltered due to her personal drama. Nonetheless, she finished the season strongly and fulfilled her duties as a leader. Despite a hiccup during her latest season, there’s no denying that Daisy deserves to come back to Below Deck Sailing Yacht as Chief Stew.

There are too many crew members from Below Deck Sailing Yacht past who deserve to come back to the show. Gary’s presence in Below Deck Sailing Yacht season 5 has threatened the release of the new season, and he should be fired from the franchise fully. Instead, the show should prioritize spotlighting alumni from the show who can positively represent the franchise.

Below Deck Sailing Yacht seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Peacock.
