Futurama season 12, episode 1 features another Bender-centric story, but the premiere sadly ignores some of Bender's best family reveals from the original show. Despite Futurama being an animated sitcom, the series has a surprisingly consistent canon, with the various reveals and twists throughout the show being carried on into the future. "The One Amigo" Is All About Bender's Family (But It Doesn't Even Mention Classic Bender Family Members)
It Forgets About Bender's Brother & Kids

"The One Amigo" is a fun addition to the world of Bender, as it fleshes out his family tree by allowing viewers to meet some of the other members of the Rodriguez family. While these new robots are fun, it is a shame that the episode forgot about the other Bender family members that the show has already introduced. Futurama season 12, episode 1 is far from the first episode to tackle this topic, as several other episodes are centered on Bender gaining new relatives, meaning that they should have been mentioned in "The One Amigo."
The most famous Bender family member is a Futurama character who has been missing since season 7, episode 3, "Attack of the Killer App:" Bender's twin Flexo. Flexo is a near-identical copy of Bender, with the only difference being that Flexo has a triangular piece of metal on his chin. Although Fry believes that Flexo is Bender's evil twin, it turns out that Bender is actually Flexo's evil twin, making his role as an antagonist questionable. However, despite him being Bender's recurring brother, he is never mentioned in Futurama season 12, episode 1.
Flexo debuted in the episode "The Lesser of Two Evils."
On top of that, there are two other Bender family members who were never mentioned in the episode: Bender's sons. Throughout Futurama, Bender has had two children. The first of these is an unnamed child from the Futurama movie The Beast with a Billion Backs, with Bender trading him to the Robot Devil only to later kick him into a pit of lava, killing him. Bender's second son Ben is still alive, although he lost all of his memories of Bender in the episode "The Bots and the Bees" before enrolling at Bending State University.

Futurama Season 12 Steals Flexo's Design Without Acknowledging It
In The Form Of Doblando

Although Futurama season 12 doesn't explicitly acknowledge Flexo, it does steal Flexo's design without acknowledging it. Flexo's design is an exact replica of Bender's, with the only difference being that Flexo has a bit of facial hair. When "The One Amigo" introduces Bender's causing Doblando, played by Futurama guest star Danny Trejo, this character looks exactly like Bender, except he is sporting a mustache. The parallels between these two Bender relatives are hard to miss, which is why it is strange that Futurama didn't mention it at all.

Futurama Does Flip One Bender Family Member Trope
They Leave Bender For Dead
Close
Although Futurama season 12 copies some Bender stories, it does add an interesting twist by flipping one Bender family member trope. Previous encounters with Bender family members have often ended with Bender leaving his family to die. Bender kicks his firstborn son into lava when he first appeared, and Flexo's debut episode ended with Bender leaving his twin in a dumpster.

However, Futurama season 12, episode 1 turns this trope on its head, with Bender's relatives leaving him to die. Near the end of the episode, Bender's family decides to sacrifice Bender, knocking him down a pit where they believe he will die. Although Bender ends up making it out alive, this gag is made funnier due to the fact that it could be read as Bender receiving karma for the treatment of his other Futurama family members.
