Goat Simulator has earned the right to call itself one of the greatest meme games of all time so it's great news that the original title may soon be remastered. Launched back in 2014, Coffee Stain Studios' ridiculous sandbox experience starring a goat driven to destroy as much as possible has become a dominant force in the industry, spawning several major expansions and an oddly titled sequel. Enthusiasts likely still enjoy returning to the place where it all started but even though it's meant to look a little strange, a fresh coat of paint certainly wouldn't hurt.

Per Gematsu on X (formerly Twitter), Goat Simulator Remastered has been rated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Taiwan.

While this isn't confirmation that the ridiculous simulator is receiving an upgrade, it certainly implies that developer Mad Dog is looking at doing something with the beloved franchise. No other information on the project is currently known but it seems safe to bet that a remastered version of the original Goat Simulator would feature improved graphics and would likely bundle together the various DLC expansions.

While the prospect of Goat Simulator Remastered is no doubt fun, it's worth noting that if the game does exist it could be a joke. Goat Simulator has often poked fun at the video game industry, especially with its titles which is best evidenced by the existence of Goat Simulator 3. The alleged third game in the franchise is actually the second and the title was named as a "compromise" since half the development team wanted to call it Goat Simulator 2 while the other half requested Goat Simulator 4.

It could be the case that Goat Simulator Remastered is simply poking fun at the fact that so many new releases are merely remasters of games that aren't really that old. It would fit with the series' tone even if it does turn out to be an actual game. There's also a chance that it's an expansion for Goat Simulator 3.

Having said that, the trademark was filed by Mad Dog, LLC, a development studio that has plenty of experience remastering older hits. That does lend validity to the theory that it is a standard upgrade to the original Goat Simulator but until an official announcement comes along, it's best to take everything with a grain of salt. It's what the Goat would want.
