How To Get & Use Drive Discs In Zenless Zone Zero

Drive Discs are essential items in Zenless Zone Zero that boost an Agent's stats like W-Engines, but you must reach certain parts of the game to unlock them. Although each Agent can only equip one W-Engine at a time, they can have up to six Drive Discs as part of their loadout. When trying to create solid builds, players need to consider both of these elements to get the most out of the playable Zenless Zone Zero characters available.

Obtainable in sets, Drive Discs also provide powerful bonuses depending on whether you equip two or four pieces from each one. This means that it's ideal to find as many sets as possible to optimize various pullable ZZZ Agents you might want to send into the Hollows best. There are multiple ways to get more Drive Discs once unlocked, but it will take a bit of effort first.

Keep Playing The Story

Close

Zenless Zone Zero players will unlock the ability to use Drive Discs after the Inter-Knot Reputation Rank-Up Trial in Chapter 1 The Intermission; this will take roughly 9 to 10 hours of playing through the game's main story. To participate in the trial, you must increase your Inter-Knot level to 20 and obtain 40 pieces of Observation Data. After the mission, go back to the sibling of your playable protagonist in Random Play, and you'll have your first set of ZZZ Drive Discs to equip - Shockstar Disco.

Drive Discs in ZZZ can also be tuned (crafted) once players open Bardic Needle - a music store opposite Random Play on Sixth Street which unlocks at Inter-Knot Level 25. Disk Drives can also be earned as rewards for completing Routine Cleanup missions after the Chapter 2 story mission, "Trace to the Source" and reaching Inter-Knot Level 26.

There are also Rally Commissions which are unlocked later in the story. Rally Commissions, Routine Cleanup, and dismantling Drive Discs at Bardic Needle also reward you with Plating Agents - the material needed for crafting more.

Plating Agents can also be used to enhance Drive Discs, similar to the way it's done for W-Engines and for promoting Agents. Be sure to earn enough to fully enhance those in a build to properly buff your favorite character.

Three Levels Of Buffs

All Drive Discs in Zenless Zone Zero come in four-piece sets - each piece with the potential to be enhanced and increase an Agent's main stat, along with additional buffs depending on how many of in the same set have been equipped.

Comparable to Artifacts, this would be another example of how Zenless Zone Zero is like Genshin Impact. Each set's first bonus passively activates when two pieces are equipped in the Equipment section, followed by another bonus when all four pieces have been added.

Taking the above Shockstar Disco, for example, two Drive Discs from its set will increase Impact Damage by 6%. But adding all four pieces implements an even bigger buff of increasing Daze inflicted by Basic Attacks, Dodge Attacks, and Dodge Counters by 20%.

Unlocking these important W-Engine Core pairings takes a lot more effort than mastering the Pity System if you want to start perfecting character builds. Nevertheless, by playing through enough of the campaign and increasing your Zenless Zone Zero Inter-Knot level, eventually unlocking Drive Discs is more than worth the effort.
