Mark Wahlberg is no stranger to wild transformations. Since the inception of his illustrious career, the 53-year-old has maintained a fairly consistent look which has, in part, made him one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood. However, there have been several occasions where Wahlberg has had to undergo wild transformations to embody a character, such as gaining weight for Father Stu or adding muscle in The Fighter.

The recently released trailer for Flight Risk was the first look at Wahlberg’s jarring transformation. Understandably, Wahlberg’s bald look works for Flight Risk as his personality and appearance are supposed to be unassuming. However, instead of wearing a bald cap to preserve his hair, Walhberg opted to shave it.

In a recent interview discussing Flight Risk, Wahlberg revealed that he opted to shave his hair for the role because he could not stand the laborious and frequent application process that a bald cap would require. So, instead of a bald cap, Walhberg chose to frequently shave the top of his head, and hid it with a hat whenever he was away from set. Flight Risk is due for release on October 18th, 2024, and it will be interesting to see how well his audience take to this new appearance.
